How to build a garage part 5 is all about the process of laying out and installing windows and door frames on a post frame. One nice feature of a post frame is the lack of header support needed whenever there is a window or door. Unless it sits under a roof truss, there will be little to no load on the frame.

Below are some of the products used in this video that I am always asked more about. Figured this was a good way to document for people wanting to know

This is really cool. I'm an old guy who learned more how to walk around like a framer, and in New York City I convinced a lot of people I was a framer...20 miles in either direction... I'd either be swimming or fired. A lot of your insert comments, like about screws versus nails, no board is ever really straight... are really good. What I know something about, you got it right, and what I don't know, I learned something. Any young guys thinking of swinging a hammer, watch this series several times, you will learn even more just from the way this crew moves, you'll learn even more how they think by watching them work. It's great to see guys who really know what they're doing.

Just wanted to commend you for integrity and doing it right. I hired some guys to frame a room under an existing porch and I couldn't believe I had to make them go back and correct some mistakes they was just going to leave as oh it's good enough.

So intelligent that u took the time to work the rib to window position. That's the shit that keeps bringing us viewers back every upload , and I'm sure that's the reason why you'll always be ahead of your competitors !! Well done dude !

man... things changed a LOT from when i framed houses way back.... some concepts really... but the tools... love this channel!
  • I like your attentiion to detail. It is incredible how many people do a shoddy job by not doing some simple things to make sure things are square, plumb or level. Awesome job. Mohamed
