In its dynamic debut on camera, the concept, build and performance of the sensational Tuthill Porsche 911K is revealed in this adrenaline-packed new film from Collecting Cars. This lightweight bespoke sports car uses a vast amount of carbon-fibre to keep weight to a minimum, while a 3.1-litre flat-six engine with a rev limit of 11,000rpm produces around 350bhp, giving it an incredible power-to-weight ratio.

With a furious soundtrack and visceral driving experience as the rev counter needle spins towards 11,000rpm, its maker Richard Tuthill likens the purist character of the car to “a four-wheeled motorbike”. What’s more, with some versions of the latest Porsche 911 now tipping the scales at 1,700kg, the Tuthill 911K at just 846kg represents an astonishing achievement at just half the weight.

Richard Tuthill has already been quoted as stating that the 911K could be made even lighter with more extreme weight-saving; potentially even below the 800kg mark – so it seems that this new take on what a lightweight Porsche can be has a very exciting future for enthusiasts.

Chris Harris is sooooo much more than Top gear allowed him to be, this guy is fantastic when allowed to do what he actually does best!!!!!
  • @Detric_Murray
That last bit with Richard driving was gold 🤌🏿

Okay. You can have your Bugattis, Koenigs, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, whatever. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I grew up with Porsches; my dad bought a Covertible D in 1960, when they were just "funny little cars". A 912 in '66, in which I took (and passed) my driver's exam. I've had 911s, a couple Boxsters (I have one now, love it). But this? This is high art. Ferry Porsche is laughing his ass off. This car was launched SIXTY YEARS ago. What a car! THANK YOU! Nice driving, Chris. Very smooth. As the great Jackie Stewart said, "You've GOT to be smooth!" And you were quite good.

The way Richard drives is the equivalent of a child having max fun with no worry about consequences. It's absolutely delightful to watch

That last segment with RT behind the wheel is one of the most magnificent pieces of car film magic I’ve ever seen. Bravo team.
  • I don't think I've ever seen Chris working so hard... You could actually hear him out of breath on the track. That thing's a certified beast.
  • 13:58 starts some of the best driving I have ever seen, period. This is clearly someone who can drive but also has full confidence in themself and their car and its so impressive the car handled it so well. Chris's reaction and the camera angle made it so much better.

I don't think I've ever heard a flat 6 scream to 11k before, what a beautiful noise. Mr Tuthill you have made an incredible machine

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the rare alchemy of engineering, camaraderie, and sheer automotive enthusiasm captured in this video? You see Chris Harris, usually the maestro at the wheel, getting literally breathless with excitement. This is the Chris we didn't get to see enough of on Top Gear — unrestrained, deeply invested, and geeking out like he's rediscovered the essence of what makes driving magical. And let's not forget Richard, the unsung hero who's orchestrated this mechanical symphony. Seeing the creator of the 911K behind the wheel was like watching a composer conduct his own masterpiece. It wasn't just a car review; it was a story about passion, skill, and the bliss of the open road. Truly iconic moments in car culture history right here.

As a former owner of a 911, and a club instructor, all I can say is...WOW! Brought me a huge smile and a giggle. Thanks. 👍
  • I've never been so entertained waiting and listening to a 1972 Porsche 911 with grabs corners and screams louder than Robbie Williams. This is poetry in bloody motion. Thank you kind sir for showing me something that escaped from W1.
  • @Tipasa100
Those two should have their own show. Real camaraderie, shared knowledge and passion. I know he builds his own car, but having a show where they both test other oddball constructors together, taking turns driving, would be great
  • This has straight up got to be one of the best automotive videos ever made. Raw emotion, excitement, thrills and smiles for miles. What a machine!!!!
  • @rudyafjr
Dude ABSOLUTELY KILLS his reviews, he could have his own show and I would watch TV again
  • @paulmcgeever5343
Now that is what you call a real porsche . No need for 700bhp and twin turbos just an ultra lightweight body modest power output and an utterly insane 11000rpm redline. Amazed chris can even talk , never heard him so excited. Pure adrenaline rush. I've got goosebumps just watching.
  • @O2TG
When the owner got in the car you could just feel the moment man, that was so epic!! This is one of my favorite car YouTube videos!
  • @bokfink1
Fantastic review, car, and cinematography. Aboslutely 10/10 straight through. Probably one the top 5 youtube videos of all time, for a car enthusiast.
