Voyager 1 Has Made “Impossible” Discovery after 45 Years in Space!
NASA's twin Voyager probes, which were launched in 1977, awed the world with historic journeys to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Both probes continue their trip into interstellar space 45 years later. Researchers, some of whom are more recent than the spacecraft, are currently using Voyager data to unravel mysteries within and beyond our solar system.

  • I was waiting for him to get to the point in the title of the video, instead of a detailed history of the mission. Not that impressed.

The most amazing thing about the Voyager mission is that it still has a working 8-track tape system that works after 40+ years, I'm 68 so I know/remember these things & to say they were unreliable is an understatement...

i think when humans are long extinct, the voyager probes will be worn down from time but still gliding into the space void serving as a sort of tombstone for human kind

The Voyager project is one of humanity’s greatest achievements, the project far exceeded any and all expectations. The wealth of information they’ve given us is invaluable.

One thing we do know, unlike many things today, these Voyagers were built with quality, and will last sometime.
  • If I ever was able to be granted one wish, it would be to be able to travel beyond light speeds to edges of the universe and beyond to wherever I can go. That would be the most awesome experience ever.
  • Voyager man's greatest accomplishment. Voyager was never expected to last near this long.
  • I have always felt a connection to these two spacecraft. I was born in the brief time period between the two launches. While my whole life has progressed from infancy to childhood and teen years in the 90's, adulthood and now middle-age, they have been flying outwards the entire time. It's fascinating to imagine, 45 years in that cold, dark, yet irradiated void

I left before finding the spot in the video with the "impossible" discovery mentioned in the title. It is possible to bury the lede so deep that it exhausts the patience of the viewer.

45 years and it’s still working! That’s the most amazing thing I believe.
  • It will be a very sad time for sure when they are completely shut down, what an amazing journey! I am grateful this was a part of my life, they went into space when I was 10. Sadly we will never know where they will end up, what they will encounter way out there or if anything will ever have the chance to see our special place and amazing life we had in this truly amazing, wondrous universe

It continuously blows my mind just how empty space is despite being filled with so much at the same time. Somebody pointed out warp travel from star trek and star wars could easily be possible once we figure out how, because of the sheer distance between everything in space. The chance of you hitting something traveling in a straight line is so small it's very close to impossible.

Voyagers seem like ancient vehicles. Time has no effect on them 🤩
  • It is so incredible that this probe is still working after 45 years, with 1970s technology.
  • @AZURAKAZ
Voyager will also return in the 2270s to do battle with the crew of the Starship Enterprise.
  • @Mike-N-morty
It still on a discovery every minute it is still able to send data it completely amazes me it still works and talks to us still absolutely remarkable engineering and keep on trucking on Voyager 1 and 2
  • @grendal1753
17 and a half minutes waiting for the impossible discovery. I’m still waiting. Otherwise it was a very well done piece on V 1 & 2
  • Voyager 1 has done what we could've only imagined. How many generations of mankind died and then also we're knowing something tiny about the space and universe which makes us realize how huge universe is and still expanding as i write
  • @johndavis6338
That's what makes the movie "Contact' so cool! The sounds as the observer travels.
  • @deshaebeasley
The aliens are gonna be shocked when they arrive how badly we treat each other after recieving such a false depiction on those gold-plated records.
