I don't even bleach my hair, but as soon as I saw the oil, I thought: "Here we go again." LOL

I was very lucky to have been married to a very good hairdresser, in the eighties he would bleach my hair gradually over a long afternoon and the the next day apply my chosen colour..sometimes we went for the bright Crazy Colour brands but my favourite were the red and copper tones by Loreal, so vibrant and shiney...he never burnt my scalp or made any hair break off..he passed away last year and I miss him greatly, not just for his hair skills 😊

I have alopecia and it’s pretty advanced. I’m jealous that these people have hair at all, and look how they’re treating it! 😩
  • It's quite alright to get mad over 40 or 50 volumes. You're just worried that it's hurting people. Just shows everyone you care
  • I used to see a hairdresser who took my hair from brown to blond in one sitting. She said bleeding sores on my scalp were normal and everyone got them. I went back to my natural color because I couldn’t stand the pain when I combed my hair. I needed you then!
  • Everyone wants to be blonde but so many of them look so much better with darker hair.

I love when people start panicking and throwing in every kind of fruit/ vegetable/soap or thing they can find in their cupboards instead of just doing a bleach wash or just regular bleach which is what they end up having to do anyways 🤣

Each time i even think about changing my hair color your videos makes those thoughts go away.
  • Big fat thank you, Hair Buddha! I watched all the videos, used the right products and took a lot of notes from you and finally made my daughter blonde (her wish ofc)… she is so happy with her icy blonde hair and had absolutely no pain on her scalp and no hair loss. I heard your voice in my head the whole time and it helped immensely („Sections! You need finer sections!“). So thanks a bunch!

My hair is almost black naturally. I'm Japanese & Turkish with very curly hair. At one point I wanted to go blonde. Two different stylist said a platinum blonde would not suit my skin tone. Both suggested a caramel type of blonde. I went with their suggestions. The stylists I went with said we would do the bleaching in two appointments. He did a fantastic job, and maintained the healthy of my hair, and scalp.

I love when Hair Buddha predicts something and is immediately proven right. I'm considering bleaching a streak of my dark brown hair to put a red/dark pink on it, and I'm paying very close attention to all of these videos 👀

I think Sally’s Beauty should be required to play Hair Buddha’s videos on a loop directly behind the register.. on full volume😆
  • Honestly, her hair was short enough that she could have just gotten a pretty platinum wig. If you don't have patience, JUST GET A WIG. Then you don't have to ruin your hair!
  • Hair Buddha’s reaction has me nearly in tears 😭 let it goooo 🤪

It’s hard to believe that people used to spray lemon juice on their hair in the 70s and 80s to lighten it out in the sun. Her hair has to be dry as straw after the lemon juice, baking soda, and dish detergent.
  • Who decided that baking soda and dish soap was a good way to remove color? A bleach wash, or at the Very least a dandruff shampoo will help.

When I went platinum from dyed bright red (with natural dark blonde to brown hair), I did it slowly over the course of 3 months. It worked and I lost no hair. A hairdresser even commented on how good the condition of my hair was and I have v fine hair, but a lot of it. If you have to do these things at home, take your time and be prepared to walk around with unwanted results for a bit as to let your hair and scalp rest/recover if it doesn't work in one go.

I used to bleach and dye my hair when I was younger before smartphones. I had no idea what I was doing. I feel so blessed to not have hurt myself or fried my hair. 🙏

Literally face-palmed at the same time as HB when I heard the whole "dish soap and baking soda". I really wish people would arm themselves with knowledge before venturing to do their own hair...actually just arm yourself with knowledge period! Ignorance is dangerous!
