I am fostering a white child and I am black. I don’t care about a child’s color. My DSS gave us a child in need of a loving parent. We love our foster child and hope to adopt him.

I am an African-American woman, and let me tell you this...You two give me butterflies when you speak of your baby girl. There aren't too many families that consider how transracial adoption affects the child and their future as they grow into adulthood. Transracial adoption could be very traumatic for African-American children. However, it can also be beautiful. I love how you love Tyanna and how protective you are of her. Haircare, her education and being surrounded by peers that look like her, teaching her about African-American culture, removing yourselves from unsupportive family members, and residing in a diverse area; you two have made these changes because your love for Tyanna far exceeds your personal needs. Y'all are amazing! I wish you and Tyanna love, peace, and many blessings! 🥰

I cannot believe these two beautiful human beings have to explain why they adopted a black baby. Wow. Can’t it not just be that they fell in love with a human being and made her THEIR CHILD. Rihanna and Jon GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS!

Jon is so protective of Tyanna and his family as a whole. It is so so sweet. Y’all are such great parents, and Tyanna is so blessed to have you both!
  • You can tell how much Jon loves his daughter. It’s honestly so heartwarming 🙌🏿

I’m a 54 year old black woman. The #1 reason why I watch your channel is seeing the love you guys have for Tyanna(plus she is sooo cute and sweet). I see you love her so much that you go beyond your comfort zone to incorporate her culture as much as possible. Also, there are no perfect parents except for our father in Heaven. Those that are critical really don’t understand that it’s better to be raised in a loving biracial family than to be raised in the system.

As a African American man. I love you for adopting her. God bless you.

Tyanna is gonna grow up a disciplined girl. She has a daddy who is firm and fair 😀. His response to open adoption shows Tyanna’s gonna be so protected, supported and loved 🥰
  • The two of you ARE Tyanna's parents. End of story. The fact that you happen to both be amazing parents is a plus.

Jon I love the way you are so protective of Tyanna. Black daughters needs strong dad. You are doing a wonderful job.
  • I love how dad loves his daughter with every fiber in him. I love how emotionally connected he is to her. I love how protective he is of her. I love how he'll never think twice of choosing her over everything. I love how mom is emotionally strong. I love how open minded she is. I love how she's fearless and so sure of her position in her daughter's life that she is not shaken at thought of opening doors to her biological mom. I love how she let's Tyanna be, she allows her to make her mistakes in whatever they do together, be it cooking or whatever. I love how she doesn't think with her heart and that balances her and Jon a lot because when it comes to Tyanna, his heart is ALWAYS a voice of reason You guys make a great team. You are awesome parents. You don't owe anyone any explanation. People's opinions of you are not your responsibility. Do YOU and the world will adjust. Lil mamma is happy, you guys are happy and that's all that matters 💖

I found myself siding SO hard with Jon on the open adoption topic. I don’t care WHO you are, I’m not letting a single toxic person around my babies. BLOOD OR NO BLOOD. You guys do you though. Blessings ❤️
