  • Wonderful reactions to an excellent singer and songwriter. You have lived up to my expectations 100%. I hope - at the age of 67 - that I can experience Courtney for a few more years, I have never seen/heard such a versatile and outstanding singer in my life. Many greetings from Germany. ps: Did you see how the two musicians jammed and smiled at each other?
  • I agree 100%, she makes them hers which means better. Thanks Bob for the love and support for Courtney.

Great reaction Bob to a couple of Courtneys classics,,i knew from your first reaction you would be hooked, and this reaction confirmed it,i think you used the word phenomenal which we can only agree, Courtney was fifteen years young here and now she's nineteen and sings like she does, so how much better will she be, it's frightening, so excited for her future, super talented ā¤

Two great reactions to two of Courtney Hadwin's very best covers, you said it all! Sign of the Times is IMHO the only one of the four "live cover" songs that was a great song by the original artist Harry Styles, but Courtney takes it to a whole 'nother level. I'd stack it up against any vocal by any singer of any song anytime anywhere, Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You or any other iconic performance. Some fans' favorite is her cover of Miss Li's Love Hurts and I'm not inclined to argue, I'd just like a decent studio recording, or better yet a live performance before throwing it in the mix with this masterpiece. Sucker on the other hand is only a great song in Courtney's hands. She makes the original sound like šŸ’©. I'm pretty sure it still has more views than anything else on her channel by a wide margin, well over 10,000,000. You are absolutely right, a once in a lifetime talent. We're lucky to be alive for her time. To me, simply the best there's ever been.
  • Hey Bob. Courtney is simply magnificent. This one double shot shows perfectly what incredible vocal range she has. These are actually two songs where I didnā€™t care for the originals, but Courtney makes them spectacular. As you said, Courtney could sing the phone book and it would bring the roof down on any arena. Funny, as massive of hits that both these songs were, Iā€™ve never come across anyone who has heard Courtneyā€™s versions as well, who didnā€™t think she blew the originals completely out of the water. You mentioned how Courtney makes every cover her own. She once said she would never do a cover unless she had a vision of how that song could have (and IMO, should have) been sung. She will never copy anyone. Courtney is a true creative genius. So, big news. The New York Pops just released a long clip of Courtneyā€™s ā€˜Piece of my Heartā€™ from Carnegie Hall on their IG site. I canā€™t put a link here, because YT will block non YT links, but check out their IG. Donā€™t know if the Pops will ever post it to YT, but it is magnificent. Check it out.

Being you're already as big a fan as the rest of us, It's tough to add much that you already haven't noticed about Courtney's abilities, both vocal talents and stage presence. But I can't not try. She pretty much knew how to perform on any type stage at 12 more than most artists have learned in a lifetime. Here at 14 just keeps getting better. And now soon to be 20 has shown the poise at Carnegie Hall to get an audience who most all, probably had no idea who she was when she opened for NY Pops Gala and gave her not only constant applause during her performance, but a standing O' at the end, wondering who is this young firecracker who just blew the doors wide open at Carnegie. I have to mention the other 2 musicians did an incredible job of backing Courtney for this song and the other 3 from this "Cover Sessions" mini EP. They absolutely loved performing with her. It's hard, but take time to watch those 2 guys having the best time playing along while watching Courtney. It's pretty much the same reaction she gets from her piers whenever she performs. Even the great artists she performed alongside at Carnegie admired her. Not to mention how much the conductor enjoyed her too. Like Ed says go to NY Pops Instagram page and she's 1st to be uploaded so far.
  • Another great reaction, SD! Thanks! If you haven't reacted to her cover of "Old Town Road" yet, it'll blow your socks off! Of all of the covers she's done, it's probably the one in which she most radically changes the song, from a country + hip-hop fusion tune, to a rock song. It's the same session, with 2 musicians, where she covered Sucker, Someone You Loved and Sign Of The Times - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwtg4C0PTc šŸ¤ŸšŸŽµ

Before Courtney released these covers, I had never heard the originals. When I heard the originals, I found them boring. Courtney really added her own flavour, pashion, range, flare and charisma that the others are sadly lacking. Why these aren't top of the billboards... it's almost criminal. I am really looking forward to her album to drop this year.

I love her voice, period. Honestly though, I was never a fan of "Sucker", even with Courtney belting it out in a way only Courtney can do. I'll leave it at I don't like the song.

Hey Dave :p ... how's it goin :p ??? Love love love Courtney. I think SUCKER is one of her best covers ... and I hate the original ;) . Peace.
  • Any song Courtney does she makes it her own and I think better than the original!
