Big Tobacco is trying clean up its image, moving into the booming e-cigarette business which continuing to peddle the deadly tobacco products. This has left public health officials in Canada, the U.K. and the US

Five million Canadians still smoke. Could e-cigarettes help wean them over to a safer nicotine delivery device? Many ex-smokers say 'yes.' E-cigarettes are their salvation.

Health Canada is on the cusp of deciding how e-cigarettes should be regulated. Mark Kelly heads to England -- a country that has taken bold steps in embracing the e-cigarette as a safer alternative. Will Canada? And what will this mean for our e-cigarette industry?

Until now, e-cigarettes with nicotine have not been endorsed by Health Canada. And that's kept Big Tobacco out of the Canadian market. Will new regulations open the doors for a tarred industry to join in the e-cigarette revolution?

“I’m not a smoker, but I’ll give it a try” Takes a drag like a champ

love how they say "we don't know what vaping does, so let's ban it", but nobody says "we know what cigarettes do, let's ban them"
  • man, ive been smoking for more than 14 years, i started vaping without even having the intention to quit smoking. and you know what happened ? i lost all urge to smoke ciggaretes and ended up quiting cold turkey. thats how powerful vaping is to help you quit smoking. i wasnt even planning to quit lol .

I smoked for over 30 years! I bought an ecig on a Monday, on the Tuesday Morning I started using it and have not had a real cigarette since, thats 3 years now. Best move I ever made.

I had my 1st cigarette when I was 10. By the time I was 12, I smoked regularly and was even allowed to smoke in the house. I smoked for the next 48 years, 2+ packs a day, 2 cartons a week. 4 years ago a friend told me he had quit smoking by vaping. Like most smokers, I have tried all the different ways to quit with no success. Just the thought of not having cigarettes made me anxious and I was beaten before I even tried. I went to the vape shop and found them to be very helpful. Upon taking my 1st hit I knew right away this will work. I left the store with about $150 worth of equipment and juice. I have now been smoke free for 4 years and my only regret is that this wasn't available in my youth as I could have avoided a heart attack.

Started vaping a month ago. Just tried to smoke again yesterday because I was offered, tasted like garbage and in no way I'm smoking again.

Ive failed to quit several times. I gave up. I finally bought a SMOK E cig and ive went 2 weeks without a cigarette for first time in my life!!!! I dont care what they say its quite possibly saved my life. Yea I get nicotine but what they dont tell you is nicotine is the LEAST harmful ingratiate in tobacco products. Its addicting and thats it. The damage comes from all the other chemicals and smoke combustion. Nicotine doesn't clog arteries....carbon monoxide does.

This surgeon: Literally makes a living from smokers Also this surgeon, opens vape store to prevent smoking: "I'm about to end my career"
  • @656hookemhorns
I started smoking in 1989, we knew all of the dangers of smoking then. "Big tobacco" didn't put a gun to my head to make me start, I chose to smoke. I can't blame them. A month ago I got my 1st real vape, within a week I quit smoking, that's how beneficial vaping is. 30yrs at almost 2 packs a day, to none in a week, powerful.

my dad currently has lung cancer and he has smoked 30 years I smoked 3years and when I heard about my dads cancer I bought a Joytech evic vtwo mini and now I have been without cig about 3 months. I hope my dad survives :(

I smoked a pack a day for 27 years & literally quit overnight after I bought my vape! I quit cigarettes that same day! It curbed my cravings by allowing me to have nicotine, without the smoke & also no tar, etc. I weaned myself down on nicotine till I was vaping with no nicotine & now I'm off the vape too! It saved my life & made quitting smoking easier than I could ever imagine! Amazing invention to quit smoking! Not for non smokers to pick up a new habit, that's the difference!
  • @sarem9389
Tobacco free November 2013 because of a chest infection !!! To this day I use a vape and have never been sick or close to it like I was as a tobacco user !!!! Vaping isn't smoking let's make this right Canada 🇨🇦
  • @slappyjoe631
I think this piece implied that all ecigs/liquids were coming from big tobacco. The truth is that most product used in devices other than the disposable "cig a likes" are made by individual entities (small businesses). Vaping has taken more AWAY from big tobacco than anything else.
  • Nicotine is a stimulant, JUST LIKE caffeine, and we have a Tim Hortons or Starbucks on every second corner.

Thanks for posting this video. I smoked cigarettes for 17 years, pack each day or even more a pack, 1 month ago i started vaping, and full month i didn't touched any cigarette. I hope that this will continue for me and that i will never go back to cigarettes, and even more, that one day i also will stop vaping too.
