Ever since the trailer for House of the Dragon dropped, we’re sure everyone’s been wondering just how many dragons did the Targaryens used to own?! For fans of Game of Thrones – and we don’t know how many are left after Season 8 – the sight of the might of House Targaryen might be a brand-new spectacle. After all, Daenerys Targaryen only had 3 dragons, and you could really exchange them for one another in terms of personality and even CGI. By contrast, the Targaryen dragons of her ancestors not only look like the fearsome beasts described in George R. R. Martin’s epic saga, they also act like them. Every dragon we saw in the trailer, showed personality – especially a certain Bloody Wyrm that we will get to – but that got us thinking: is HBO going all-in on the source material? Because in Fire & Blood, at the peak of their power in Westeros, the Targaryens controlled a score of dragons; it’s just unfortunate that that was at the eve of a civil war. Given the fact that they’ve gone through the effort to make the dragon bones black as opposed to the museum exhibits of its predecessor, we’d wager that House of the Dragon plans to be as faithful an adaptation as it can be. And that can only mean one thing for us here at Marvelous Videos: it’s time to talk about every dragon that will appear in House of the Dragon – Ranked.     caraxes is unique, a dragon created for its rider, damon had many options to claim as Vermathor and vhagar but preferred the Blood Wyrm, his evil, unpredictable and feared clone, who loves chaos ,everything we want to see on the show

    Ryan Condol, head writer for HOTD, said we’ll get 17 dragons overall but only see 9 during the first season. Great video! Love the attention to details.

    I can’t wait to see more of Caraxes! Daemon was nailed with Matt Smith and I’ve got a good feeling about the rest of the series!

    It’s crucial to remember that Fire and Blood is mostly a fantastic history book. Meaning that some things may happen in the show that weren’t discussed in the book. So we could still see some of the lesser dragons have some feats in the show.

    I loved Drogon too. He is a beautiful dragon. It will be nice to see more dragons, different ones and also more of their personality.

    I was waiting for you guys to mention Morning! Though I suppose she’s born towards the end of the Dance & never fights. Something about a pink dragon with black horns and golden wing membranes just excites the pastel goth in me. Hopefully we’ll see her in the final season! I’m so excited. Great video, guys!     Just imagine if like the books each dragon also breathed different colored fire just like color of their body .. for example balerion flames were dark black with red streak .. sunfyre had golden flames .. Tessarions fire was cobalt blue .. Quick silver had pale white fireballs

    I really loved the dragons in house of the dragon. While we go a few episodes with no dragons and that frustrated me, I loved their designs being so different we could easily tell them apart, from color to silhouette. The final episode definitely had the best dragons. The only thing I hated was how dark the whole series was, if I wasn't in pitch black I could tell what was going on...
