To the cole fans... i promise this video is not hate. Tbh i like the song the more i hear it but i still expected more in the wordplay and lyrical department. That is all. Still rooting for Cole and I hope he shows ppl why he's great when The Fall Off comes out.

Cole’s track was basically him telling Kendrick to leave him alone cuz he loves him and that’s his brother. While also putting the ball in his court to either escalate it or let it die down. Kendrick genuinely doesn’t like Drake so him going at Cole Id say was for linking with the opps kinda thing cuz it’s always been love with them.

"Who live his life without the pressures of a constant facade" I assume Cole is bragging how his humility and "humble" personality gives him the simple pleasure to walk around in public, not swarmed by rabid fans, or at least not unbearably so, as where Kendrick isn't seen for even months at a time.

It is a popular opinion to dismiss TPAB as boring, dense or inaccessible - especially amongst younger rap fans who prioritise commercial bops. DAMN delivered on the commercial imperative, thats why casuals prefer that album over TPAB. TPAB is perceived as the preferred album of purists, hipsters and ‘music snobs’ that turn their noses up to the majority of the mainstream hiphop. Cole is the wrong messenger for this punchline , as those same casuals would call large swaths of his discography equally sleepy

J coles response was perfect. It would not make sense for him to go balls to the wall when Kendrick didn't come after him that hard to begin with. Cole is simply matching his energy and letting him know if he wants it he's ready for it. Kendrick only slightly addressed cole on Like that. If cole went all out it would be very uncalled for and out of place. So his response is on point. You gotta explain that to these dummies though. They don't understand these nuance things
