As someone who has owned a m1 garand for over 20 years and was actually the first gun I ever bought, I have to say I have never seen one jam so many times. Lol. I think gun companies need to send you firearms to test out to see how prone they are to jamming. Because you sir, seem to have a special touch for jamming guns

as a recruit in the Danish army in the early 70ies they still taught us to shoot using the M1. It is really an excellent gun!

This brought back the memories of having a Garand blow up while I was firing it. Not quite as spectacular as yours but with similar result. It froze the brass case in the chamber, vented through the case head and cracked both locking lugs. Gas blew out the floorplate and ruptured the stock similarly to yours. Injury was a cauterized burn to the the left wrist. It was January, so winter clothing shielded some.

My heart skipped a beat from that explosion while you were setting up your trigger puller contraption. Good one .🤣

My heart broke when a perfectly good Garand was destroyed.

I am so glad that Scott can make jokes about what happened. And the fact that he is still okay around firearms. I personally probably would have been scarred for life, so good on you, Scott!

What’s absolutely surprising to me is that the most failure prone part of the garand with high pressure, the operating rod, survived mostly. At least didn’t fail in the normal high pressure way. All due to the bolt giving before the bullet reached the gas port

Dang it Scott, I watch your videos at work, with headphones on, at moderate volume. That explosion you did at 10:03 made me jump about 1/4" outta my chair haha. They always get me when you do those. You'd think by now i'd be expecting it.

Scott, a suggestion. I’m very curious to see a bullpup rifle would handle this kind of failure, whether it be an AUG, Famas, IWI-TAVOR, or L85A1. Been somethin I’ve wanted to see for a while.
