Bill Monroe Lick - Bluegrass Mandolin Lesson

In this video, Hayes Griffin teaches you a useful lick from the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe. This phrase can be used over any Dominant 7th chord, making it very useful for the 5 chord in any key, or over the chord changes to a 12 bar blues. After watching this lesson, you will come away knowing how to play this lick in open and closed positions so you can move it to any key!

    This is great and so easy to learn. For some variation It just needs a little push at the end. Instead of playing the whole D riff, play: d, f#, a, c, b, a, c, b, a, g, g#, a (4th string run up).
