Midnight is the deadline for filing your taxes online. At this point, you may be thinking, 'I just need to file an extension'. You can and you won't be alone. The IRS expects about 19 million taxpayers to file an extension. But don't miss the major misconception about filing an extension.

"An extension is an extension to file not an extension to pay. you don't have all your documents, changed addresses and they haven't sent you something, that's a great use of an extension," said Ryan Dodson of Stanaland, Dodson & Associates, Certified Public Accountants.

Little late to be posting this. I believe, extension filings are required to be filled by April 15th, payment owed or not. I believe they don't allow extentions to be filed after that date. I am going to need to go on IRS.gov to double check it though. It's good to see someone covering how to handle it if you owe, though. Thank you.
  • How come we can’t request forms to be mailed anymore? Not everyone can get to a printer.

You are ROBBING people at this point! No wonder they haven’t filed! They cant afford to!
