Vinnie is one of the biggest reasons Pantera sounded as heavy as they did; much as Dime's riffs are monstrous, things like that snare in the gaps of Walk or the whole beat of 5 Minutes Alone intensifying on the second playthrough really carry the groove and scale of each song. While he certainly wasn't underappreciated, Vinnie never got the recognition he deserved as one of the most consistently great drummers metal has ever produced.
