I went to school with Chris Waide. Everyone thought he was creepy then, and when Maxx's sister went missing, the second we found out Chris was one of the last to see her, we all immediately knew who was responsible. Thanks for giving this story exposure EWU. Love Maxx and his family and still think about this every day.

I was one of Lea’s friends. Thank you for covering this case! She was a beautiful human! She saved my feet from freezing off in a surprise blizzard one day. Such a beautiful soul. I hope she’s at peace, wherever she is.

The brother kept his composure for a lot longer than most people could have. Takes a lot of strength

Guy hires a lawyer and then refuses to listen to anything he says. He really thinks he's the smartest one in the room.

it's hilarious when chris starts his confession, telling the story about how she threatened him with the knife to buy drugs, Maxx goes "she would not do that you stupid moron stop lying" and then notices he's interrupting the confession and immediately apologizes "sorry of course she attacked you please continue"

It's hilarious that Maxx's secret audio recording of Chris Waide is 10x better quality than the police/detective interrogation's audio quality.

always find it intriguing that sex is a censored word but murder is fine lol

Makes my skin crawl when the killers try to make their victims seem like terrible people in their interrogations.

I feel so bad for that brother, he clearly cared so much about his sister and put himself in such a rough place to get justice for her. The part where he starts defending her and realizes he needs the full confession and goes "sorry I'm just throwing a tantrum, keep going" the level of restraint and mental fortitude to be able to catch yourself in that moment is intense.

I love how even when he got a lawyer, he did the exact opposite of what he told him.
  • @beerten202
The amount of restraint the brother has to keep his fury at bay for the right moment is incredible.
  • @SGlenn97
It’s extremely baffling and sickening to watch those people in the video calls stick up for him and show moral support to someone who wouldn’t do the complete opposite for them. He literally admitted to taking advantage of her and throwing her lifeless corpse into a dumpster. 🤦‍♂️

How her brother and ex were able to talk to him about the murder without attacking him is amazing.

Fun Fact: Chris's lawyer is playing 'hangman' on his sketchpad. Each time Chris says something incriminating, lawyer draws another element of the hangman picture.

Only 48 years!? That is horrible. I can’t believe they even cut him a deal when they had a confession.

Listening to this killer is unnerving. You can hear his anti social comments, and you can hear his detachment from emotion. I am glad that you showed so many pictures of the victim. She should be the focus
  • @yerro504
What really disgusted me was his two classmates at the end who were defending him on Facebook. Ur “friend” just murdered and potentially raped a girl. IT COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF YOU INSTEAD if you trusted him enough to go to his house. Imagine being Lea’s family and seeing someone defend the person who just took away ur precious daughter, sister, cousin, auntie, niece, etc. How horrible.
  • i love getting to hear victim’s families tell off these pieces of absolute human garbage
  • @GodBoredWas
The brother got to punch his sisters killer in the face, shoulda been more... That is the best thing from this story.

I applaud this monster’s mother for being honest about her son’s issues. That had to be difficult for her. But WTF is up with these high school friends simping and drooling over him. There are some SICK and deranged women out there.
