I didn't have a lathe big enough, so I built one. This thing works great! If you haven't been following the Reaper turbine progress on social media, I intend to use this lathe to turn a foam model of the nose cone for the turbine rotor. The model will be used to cast a negative mold, and that mold will be used to cast the actual fiberglass nose cone. This will be covered in the next build video, along with the fiberglass blades and molds. Then it's just a matter of installing the tower and getting the turbine hoisted into the air. It's been a long project, that's for sure. Thanks for being so patient, folks! Plans for this lathe are available at the link below.
