Cutting the 'number your thumb' lyric was criminal
-
“You understand mechanical hands are the ruler of everything?” “æ.”
-
No matter how many times I listen to this song, the “aaah”s will always catch me off guard
-
there's almost a playful silliness to this version and i adore that vibe
-
The finished version only modulates the god-like figure, making it feel like a person fearing a force they're unfamiliar with, allowing us to relate to them more and fear the ruler of everything. This version only pitches up the human, presenting them in a more mocking tone, playing up the aspect of foolish ignorance they display in the lyrics and making the ruler of everything seem more like an empathetic being trying to get the human to understand they can't ignore their place. I really enjoy the inverse in both versions, they each provide a different experience.

Listening with one earbud is wild
-
this feels weirdly nostalgic and melancholy. i live for it.
-
the choir at 1:33 is probably my favorite part about this demo, its very fabloo
-
1:50 rare footage of Tally Hall saying "uwu"
-
That "ah" never fails to make me laugh
-
The megaphone part starts off so much louder it genuinely kinda scared me
-
i love this version more. from the numbered thumb to the broken smile at the end of the megaphone part. beautiful
-
I like the difference from this and the final version, its almost like 2 different songs
-
every version of ruler is soooo good
-
The fact that I'm STILL finding banger demos from tally hall just tells you how much effort they out into making every song they make as amazing as possible
-
This is just the kidz bop version of ruler of everything

Ok i made a story with this. 0:11 Juno is the pet puppy of a family of mysterious gods. He's the dog of a god so he's very special witch is why he was able to shoot the sun. 0:39 "You understand mechanical hands are the ruler of everything?" is the dad god telling his son about the power that they have like "You know we have a lot of responsibilities as gods right?" Hes saying this because hes going to send his son to that planet to observe its citizens to see how to create them a new sun 0:49 The son being like "Yeah i am the ruller of everything thats so cool! >:D" 1:08 The reversed words are the other gods talking but from the planets hes visiting the words of the gods just sounds like gibberish 1:53 "I've been living a lie a metaphorical scheme" is the minimum wage employe thinking about his crapy job and life
-
This sounds just as beautiful and unique as the official ruler of everything
-
1:00 “some of the monkey piss hung on a vine”
-
i wish they didnt cut the number your thumb part
