The American Rosie the Riveter Association was the brain child of Dr. Frances Carter (who served as a riveter on B-29 airplanes during the war) of Birmingham, Alabama. She and her husband, Dr. John Carter (a former Army paratrooper), present programs describing the activities of the six millionwomen who worked in steel, lumber, and textile mills, along with countless other occupations during WWII. Dr. Carter and the millions of women like her were pioneers who opened the door to women in construction who have how taken giant strides in the industry. This month Robins & Morton presents a look back to those women who were first and we spotlight a few of our employees and clients who are women in construction, building together.
