Apple Music’s Songwriter of the Year, Taylor Swift, has been one of music’s preeminent and most decorated songwriters for more than a decade. With her latest records, the surprise-releases ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore,’ she laid bare the magic behind, perhaps, her biggest strength. Ditching the big, radio-ready, chart-topping sparkle of her past releases for bare-bones indie-folk instrumentation, stripping her songs down to the very studs. Watch as she sits down with Zane Lowe for the 2020 Apple Music Awards: apple.co/-Awards20

The Apple Music Awards honor achievements in music across five distinct categories, and winners are chosen through a process that reflects both Apple Music’s editorial perspective and what listeners around the world are loving most. The winners for global Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year were hand-selected by Apple Music’s global editorial team of world-class experts and tastemakers, and the awards for Top Song of the Year and Top Album of the Year are based on streaming data that is reflective of what Apple Music subscribers have been listening to this year.

  • Zane Lowe should be the only person who should interview celebrities. He is soo respectful!
  • @r.e.3397
finally everyone is acknowledging Taylor Swift as a real artist not pop artist not country artist just artist
  • Don't you love hour long interviews with artists where they talk about THE MUSIC? Not who they're dating, not about the tea, not about luxuries or frivolous things. They talk about MUSIC. I freaking love this. I
  • @rosebigfan
The most comfort interview I've ever seen. No flirt, no jokes, no sarcasm, no shade, just about her music.
  • @justme-ji2il
Taylor released an album, the long pond documentary, another album, re-recorded old music, and is doing promo in quarantine and I am yet to turn in one history assignment
  • @saffandahalf
This man is so extremely respectful of her and what she's saying throughout this entire interview. Thank you for being so kind to her, not probing her, and allowing her to speak!
  • @arpitanamjoshi
This interview is an hour long but somehow I wish it was longer. She’s so intelligent and talks about her songwriting so well and Zane is so respectful and asks the right kind of questions which must be asked to an artist which are about their music and not about their dating life or whether their getting married etc etc

I love it when an interviewer unpack this side of Taylor. She's such a brilliant artist, but some interviewers are so shallow with their questions that we would've never known she's a hundred fold genius than what the industry is making us perceive of her. Kudos to Zane Lowe. You earned my greatest respect.

Zane is literally one of the best interviewers in the game. Like wow these questions are so thoughtful and interesting.
  • I love how she's talking about Joe more confidently and the interviewer is asking about him only in a professional way, only as a songwriter...
  • Taylor Swift... so elegant, so intelligent, so witty and well-spoken.
  • @mamat8184
The most intelligent, intuitive interviewer. Zane reminds me of The Rolling Stone interviewers of the 70s who actually loved music more than their own bylines. I would read his book, if he writes one. Brilliant man.

Taylor gained a new fan this year. Big respect to this woman. She’s a great songwriter and obviously thinks a lot about her craft and her artistry. How can you knock it?
  • I wish Taylor had an hour long interview with this guy for every album because he's so respectful and asks all the good questions.
  • @AarjavDua
Taylor is not the artist of the decade, she is the artist of the century.
  • @upscaleavenue
She is SO intelligent. I love that she went into detail about the songs on the album. Champagne Problems, Coney Island, and Tolerate It have stunning lyrics. It was great to hear her discuss the backstory on those. She's one of the best songwriters of the 21st century. Props to the interviewer for asking such insightful questions.

You can tell the interviewer really, REALLY enjoys his job and talking to her about her music and the artistry behind it and all the lines and it makes the interview even more fabulous
  • @ElliotteBuracas
"You didn't have the perspective to learn and appreciate who they were, fully." That hit deep
