What is the lifetime of a battery in an EV? The battery warranty of most electric vehicles today is around 8 to 10 years and 100 to 150k miles – but we have to face it, electric vehicle batteries do loose capacity over time which will reduce the mileage of your car.

But the interesting thing is – this “aging” and the final lifetime of your battery depends on HOW YOU USE your electric car. How much charging, discharging at which temperatures and so on.

This raises the question, is it possible to predict the lifetime or remaining life of a battery in an electric car and can we do something to maximize the life?
