My opinion on the new Arrma Mojave Grom. Measurements and comparisons to other vehicles.

  • My RC budget is quite small so I’ll be saving for a bit to get one of these. Hang tight. I will be getting one and converting it to a solid rear axle!

Solid Axle Grom would be cool !
  • Looks like a lot of trophy/baja/desert trucks are 125” wheelbase which would put this at 1/16.2 scale. Track width seems usually 92” (but I think that’s centerline of tire which is about 12.5” wide) so that’s 1/15.4. So kinda seems like 1/16th to me. So yeah seems big unless I’m using the wrong vehicle comparison. A 2024 Tacoma can be 132” to 145” and a 2024 f150 raptor is 145” to 157” wheelbase which is ballpark range for 1/18th or 1/19th.

Looks just like my 1/8 but 1/4 the price and easier to pack around. ~1/16 Might even be able to use it indoors. Hopefully companies are quick to start making parts for these things they look like they could turn into some really cool builds

Solid axle grom would be awesome. Excited to see what you come up with!

The mojave grom also comes with the updated v2 diffs. The previous groms have diff issues.
  • The LaTrax Prerunner is what I have, after a few key upgrades and shims it's borderline indestructible.
