It's so sweet that you guys spoke to that man, it makes for such a wholesome segment in the video and I'm glad that he didn't get discouraged by the language barrier

I don't know why nobody is making a big deal out of this but this was the best travel documentary I've ever seen. Just from the intro itself I got transported back to my teen years when I used to watch Anthony Bourdain and other travellers on TV. The way it was edited, the font that was used, the music and Tay's energy was like from a professional tv show. Not to mention that for sbd like me who has watched many travel vlogs throughout my life, I have seen so many of the big cities be done before and yet I've never heard of Cheung Chau and I found it absolutely wonderful. From the way you included that tidbit of information about the pirate who was an inspiration behind a PotC character to mentioning the data about the inhabitants' longevity (and why that is) to the interaction with that sweet older gentleman....every second of this was so enjoyable to watch. The whole island community reminds me of the centenarians in Okinawa who said that the reason for their longevity is because they are still phyically active even in old age and because they have great social bonds with the whole village and a stress free environment. This island seems like they have that as well. Taylor, you really outdid yourself with this video.

As a resident who lives in Cheung Chau for almost 20 years, I think the video captures the vibe of CC perfectly! I love how you included both vibrant and laid-back sides of the island. Thanks for the amazing video ❤️

When I went to HK 8 years ago my Hongkongese friend took me to an island with street food. There were boat houses, I do not recall cars being driven, and we def went there by ferry. I now think could have been Cheung Chau! I remember stuffing myself with seafood, particularly some huge oysters baked on a grill or charcoal with all sorts of condiments.. then squid skewers, fish balls, man what a day! I never knew where I was exactly but thanks for giving me a possible explanation!
  • @dairyfree321
I love how she includes so much informative stuff in her videos but it doesn’t feel like I’m watching a documentary, there so entertaining and I look forward to her videos. The quality is just 🤌

I had so many good memories in Cheung Chau, I went there for high school field trip and with family when I was younger, now that I moved to Canada, almost forgot how Cheung Chau looked like! Thank you Taylor for making a video about Cheung Chau ToT!!! I would love to see you visiting other islands too <3

I like how you included the fumbly conversation with the kind local gentleman. Shows the endearing reality of an expat.
