SELLING OUR DREAM HOME IN ARIZONA AND MOVING TO...

We moved to Star, Idaho before everyone else does!    • MOVING TO STAR IDAHO SIGHT UNSEEN

I've been in Arizona for 8 glorious years but the time has come to load up the family and the truck and move to another state. Having a baby during the during the covid-19 outbreak has been quite difficult and the 116 degree heat doesn't help the situation. We are leaving family and friends and our dream home behind so this has been an emotional decision to say the least. We are very excited for our next chapter though as we look towards a place with 4 seasons, where you can snowboard in the winter, wakeboard in the summer and mountain bike most of the year. A place where the beer flows like wine (j'k, dumb & dumber reference). We are moving to Boise, ID! The market is booming up there and we're hoping to get in before the rest of the west does! I look forward to future adventures and many more videos up in the potato state!

What's up everyone!? So stoked to have you here at the Active Dad community! My name is Jimmy and I have an amazing wife named Meg. We live in Arizona with our son, Brady, that was born in January of 2020. He such a sweet, happy boy and has learned a lot already. We got him a helmet to fix plagiocephaly around 5-1/2 helmets so be sure to follow along with his progress! My wife and I are both very active people who love camping, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and many others. Probably the thing that I'm most excited about with being a parent, is teaching my kids about all the fun activities there are to do in this world that I love.

We post multiple videos a week and would love to have you follow along on our journey!

We considered moving to Arizona but the 120 degree summers and uncertain water situation swayed us. The recent 50% increase in housing prices was final nail in the coffin.

Denver may not have Phoenix heat, however, you'll pay $400K for a chicken coop that would offend a chicken.
  • I think you will miss Arizona more than you think you will. It's just as cold in Idaho as it is hot in Arizona. You may find being camped in the house for five months of the year not as much fun as you think. I do hope you enjoy your move.

This is wrong aditut. 😕 After 24 years leaving Europe we moved to LA and Illinois. Smog and earthquake was not for us and the baby. We heard about Arizona how beautiful state it is.This was 47 years ago and we still live here.😊 We have beautiful winter 7 months and yes ,hot summers we call it our winter. We at least can go outside for walk or swim.Mornings and evenings are fantastic and we don't have to clean the snow or look for tornados or live with earthquake. We love you Arizona!
  • "I can't go anywhere with a baby except to the doctor...... My 10 thousand square feet palace with a closet the size of a garage is just too terrible to behold! After 8 years - wait, Really man!!!!!
  • We're leaving in Arizona more than 40 years. Every single summer ,we said ...we gonna move away from this hell hole.. . 40 years later we still here.

I'll take 4 to 5 months of heat followed by 7 to 8 months of pleasant weather over 4 months of pleasant summer weather followed by 8 months of snow and cold.

Lived in The Valley of the Sun for a few years. I still have relatives from Tucson to Mesa to Pine-Top Lakeside; so, AZ has a special place in my heart. The summer gets hotter and hotter each year. The traffic and the pollution, especially in Phoenix, has become more like L.A. traffic. Yet, one cannot deny the natural beauty of Arizona. Superstition Mountains to Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon, just absolutely beautiful. Though I never thought of Idaho, I have know several of my colleagues that hat have retired and moved there. Have fun in your new state. Keep your goals and dreams in focus.

instead of having one big house I bought two smaller houses one in Colorado for the summer and one here in Apache Junction Arizona for the winter

We’re moving to Arizona from Nebraska. Hell no the snow is 10ft in front of my house. It’s 20-40*F from October to April with snow. Too dangerous Bye snow!!!
  • @dh2392
The problem with 4 seasons is that 3 of them are cold.

I live in AZ. Decades ago, my employer sent to me up to Boise in October to help figure out why a franchisee was having a hard time. I absolutely LOVED Boise - and that was even a long time ago. The air was so fresh in October that I felt as though I was breathing in a Tic-Tac. The place was clean. The people were wonderful. And what struck me the most, I think, is that Boise was a small city that felt so much larger (in every good way but no bad ways). I hope you like it up there!
  • Wow, Wow, Wow, beautiful everything , except the heat, I could understand why you really hate leaving. God Bless your new journey, i will keep you guys in my prayers. be safe and careful love’s.❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️

I moved from Kentucky to Oro Valley 3yrs ago, do not regret it at all. Kentucky is pretty only 6mos out of the year, that's just the look not the weather. Let me explain, from October to late April it's brown and dead looking because the plants go dormant from the cold. The other 6mos are green and pretty, but it rains at least 3 to 4 days a week, literally twice as much a year as Seattle lol. The ground so wet it's like walking on a sponge. The winters can be brutal, -20 degrees windchills, the Summers can be 115 to 120 with the heat index. So I'm fine with the heat which is not as bad as Kentucky to me. You can't get away from the humidity even in the shade back east. Here in Southern Az the weather is awesome almost the whole year, plus there are 9000ft mountains next to us to see snow, and come back down to 70 when you get tired of it. To each his own. Good luck and enjoy life, it's short 😎

Saw your OTHER video first ... it showed up on my YouTube feed. (The "moving" video.) Your home here in Phoenix IS beautiful and I'm not surprised where you chose to move. BOISE is one of the hottest cities on the market right now. I've lived in Sacramento (loved it) and I also lived in Colorado for 14 years (Boulder & Loveland -- couldn't stand the cold and snow OR the barren landscape). Also lived in Tennessee & Omaha, NE (loved those places too.) I can see why you love this home so much but I can understand the issues with heat and raising a family. Your videos are very helpful for the information you share as well as entertaining to watch. 👍

I would never sell that house!! You will regret it down the line bro

You have to do what’s best for you and your family. Sometimes in life, changes are going to come, we as humans have to understand that life is all about making changes because if you do not change, your life will not change. Sometimes change is good for the soul and it will also give you a peaceful outlook on life because you will understand that fear doesn’t exist in your life because your mindset is all about changing from within to make life more adventurous for you and your family. God bless you on your journey.
