Deepest sympathy to all those affected. Grew up in Austin on Turtle Creek which flooded every 10 yrs! Just a nightmare to go through!!! I’m so sorry!
  • I almost can't believe the difference of how Minnesota is responding to the deluge versus Iowa and South Dakota.

Yesterday they said the water will rise 2 feet if the dam fails. The water has risen 4 feet since and today they still say it'll rise 2 feet if the dam fails. I'd prepare for more than 2 feet if I was downstream...although it's unlikely the dam will collapse now that the water made a wide enough path.

My sts crew leader used to bring us to the dam store quite often, camping there as a kid, fishing, countless memories

Why is that house built next to the river dam?

"Land of Lakes"..hmm, maybe we should construct some dams and build more lakes🤔🤦‍♀️🤣 I laugh at the irony, not the misfortune. My paternal family farm is up there as well.

Kristi Noem doesn't know how to defend against floods. But she knows how to fill a pit.
