They literally have electric guns and cyborgs, but they can’t have half-decent body armor.

The AI watches them and studies their tactics and later uses it against them.

so, minor thought on this. AI would run a billion cycles a week or more in simulation with innumerable variables running combat algorithms before even being considered for deployment, no one just dumps military robots out in the open to run simulations in hopes it learns. That's way to inefficient and would take way longer and pose greater threats to human life. They already did this with, deep blue and chess, OpenAI 5 and DOTA, this isn't a new idea. If it was a genuine effort on behalf of the military to make efficient war drones then that's the likeliest route taken, but then there would be no movie. If they had run the simulations on the AI the soldiers would never had a chance to get boots on the ground they would have been shot on descent.

You never truly realize how much works goes into making movies, until you learn about every little thing they do.
