While Seiko’s impressive range of affordable dive watches is likely the brand’s best known collection, Seiko’s Alpinist field watches, best exemplified by the SARB017, also have a passionate following. In this video, we’ll do a complete review of the newest Alpinist on the scene, which collectors have already dubbed the “Baby Alpinist” thanks to its overall smaller dimensions. Complete with Seiko’s impressive 6R35 caliber with 70 hours of power reserve, this SPB157 might just be the best watch you can get for $700.

  • Hey Everyone, thanks for watching. Which of the watches mentioned was your favorite? Also, quick typo correction, the Lorier has a plexiglass NOT a sapphire crystal. This is commonly used in their watches across the board for more vintage appeal.
  • Jaeger LeCoultre. A Brand that I can't pronounce and afford at the same time.

A regular person can never tell a luxury from an homage apart. Tell them an Invicta Pro Diver costs 10k and a PP Nautilus 100$ and they will believe you.

My man call a 5 thousand dollar piece “entry level”😂😂

The sweep of the Grand Seiko spring drive's second hand is mesmerizing.

Do "under the radar watches", watches that are more expensive than they look. Sometimes you want quality but want something discreet.

I love that open hour hand on the Timex...such a subtle and great way to show 24 hour time.
  • @Sandouras
Now do the opposite: Shamelessly expensive watches that should have been cheaper. First up: IWC with their ETA powered watches that cost 8 - 10.000 euros.

Great video. I would add the Glycine Combat Sub. It represents quite the value at the current street price. I recently purchased the GL0092 version for $315. Last week, I visited a watch repair shop to get a battery for one of my quartz divers. I was wearing the Glycine and the proprietor of the shop congratulated me on my "nice Tudor Heritage Black Bay". The appearance of the two time pieces are quite similar. I've been impressed with everything about the Combat Sub, especially the case thinness and the finishes. It looks and feels more expensive than it is.

I was very confused to see the omega seamaster on the thumbnail, my first thought was, "Thats not a cheap watch"

Original content, I genuinely respect and enjoy what you're doing, an entrepreneur while enjoying your hobby! All the best Teddy.
  • @TheYellowPixel
Appreciate that you ordered them from lower priced to higher priced!

From the Seiko lineup, two watches from their Presage line that I think look more expensive than they are priced would be the SPB171 and SPB093 with the Arita Porcelain dials. Both for around $2k or less new.

I've always had the JLC Reverso Small Seconds as a grail watch. I actually prefer its versatility to some of the more expensive models that appear more dressy to me.
  • @NdifonNtui
Thank you so much for looking at more affordable watches. I'm stuck on your channel now. Welldone
  • @wisama7091
What this channel does so well is the cinematic up close shots of the time pieces
  • Teddy pumping out quality as usual. Got my Ball Moonphase because of you and i love it. Thanks!

The prx is a beast. Cant wait for the powermatic version to drop. I got my finger on the trigger.
  • @JHEVR
Great video Teddy, a suggestion. You should take advantage of the the timestamps that you can add in the description to divide the video in each watch.
