  • 20 years as a fencer and can’t argue with any of those golden rules, do it nice or do it twice. 👍

Utility locating is most often a free service for homeowners. (Just in case someone didn't know already.)
  • I put my treated fence up in 1991 and after 30+ years it still looks brand new because I stain/seal it every 5-7 years. Right on brother!

It's nice when having a true professional reinforce how you've been building fences (occationally). Thanks for posting!

I never thought about metal hardware for a gate. Makes perfect sense! Thank you!!
  • My father and I built our 1st fence in Florida years ago and we're getting ready to build another. Using steel post and hardware is a brilliant idea!! Considerate done! Thank You!! God Bless

I personally do fencing for a living and all great tips man👍🏽

Our minimum depth here is 4-6 feet, because of the Frontline. This transition looks excellent!

Thanks, Joe! I've learned quite a bit by watching your videos. I am replacing an existing 6' cedar privacy fence around the perimeter of my back yard. I was pleasantly surprised to find the majority of the existing 4×4 posts are still solid. I will be replacing most of the fence rails... is 'pressure treated' wood suitable for this?

In areas of frost...along with digging your post holes deep enough, you can also bell shape the bottom of the post hole. That will prevent the frost from pushing the post and concrete up.
  • I've been building fences for the past 10 years in my dad and grandpa's business, and I'm always trying to learn more, great content!

Great vid. Short, to the point and informative.
  • @tangero3462
It's amazing, the previous owner of the place I just bought did almost none of these 😂 It's simple stuff, too. Drives me crazy. Not going to be able to salvage much from this thing, but I've got a plan to replace it with a simple, modern fence
  • Thx man as I’m looking into bids for a new fence for our home. Will surely be using this info.
  • i fell in love with you when you said cookie cutter fence, great work brother than you for the information! stay safe
  • What stain was used on that fence? The color looks great! Thanks for the tips!
  • Great video. I could only afford home depot fence panels and a couple of workers from off the street. They did a great job I am just hoping it lasts a long time!
  • I wish I would have watched this a couple weeks ago. The only thing that I am doing bad is using 4x4 pressure treated posts set in 3 80lb bags of concrete for the gate posts.
