The infamous Sonic 06 has served as a go to example of how to do almost everything wrong that a game possibly can. However, for many, the failure of Sonic 06 was a source of inspiration. Game developer, ChaosX, sought to answer one question: What if Sonic 2006 was finished? And thus, Project Sonic 06 was born. This video will explain in depth why I find it to be the most fun a Sonic game has ever provided me.

5:30 Fun Fact: for anyone who has played SONIC 2006, there are 465 loading screens ( not counting game overs or fails) from start to finish which comes out to 1 hour, 58 minutes and 34 seconds of nothing happening.

Sonic P-06 really feels Worthy of the title, “Sonic Adventure 3.” Congrats to the ChaosX and everyone else who worked hard to create this great Fan game

I was 11 years old when I was gifted an Xbox 360 and sonic 06 for Christmas. I honestly never touched the game until a year later when my dad committed suicide. In one of the worst times of my life, Sonic 06 helped me through it. It was my escape from reality. Silver was actually my favorite to play and I would just run through the multi-player levels again and again. It still was a bad game but in a good way like a cheesy B movie. To this day I still hold 06 close to my heart and I'm glad that there is a dedicated fan base to create things like this to help it live to its full potential.

The notion of one man taking a game that nearly killed the entire Sonic franchise and him turning into what it could have been is very fascinating to me. Well done, Chaos X.

ChaosX basically has the single most impressive resume out of anyone in the world for game development: "I'm, the guy who made Sonic 06 good"

The moment I saw Silver's Tropical Jungle stage.....how colorful and vibrant it looked, I was just petrified. My jaw dropped of how beautiful it looked...just insane how much detail this game has now. I legit want to play it, hope my PC can handle it.

Just seeing what I have now...I will say only this: A thousand blessings on the bloodlines of ChaosX and his team, for a thousand generations. They deserve all the love. All of it.

For me, this will always be the true version of Sonic '06. ChaosX is the hero we all needed. I can't praise them and their efforts enough.

P-06 is one of those outstanding fan creations that should be praised in the gaming space.

The fact that one Person took what was one of Sonic’s most infamous and worst game of all time, into what could have been a real contender for one of Sonic’s Greatest Games ever is just incredible. And once the story / cutscenes / voice acting, is fixed and fully realized, along with being able to play the boss battles and The full Game from start to end is really outstanding and crazy how really fun and great sonic 06 could have been

I actually like the story of 06, I thought the "gaps" in what was going on was fun because of the time travel mechanic. It felt like there was definitely a bigger picture I was only seeing a small part of and it gave me this fun relationship with the game where I wasn't sure if I was the good guy or not until all the cards got laid out on the table.
  • the thing about 06 is that it tried. it wanted to be great but never had a chance. it wasn't a cashgrab but an honest disaster. and people can always tell when that's the case. that's why they care about it and want to see what it could have been so badly.

I think the most impressive thing here is how basically one guy took one game and fixed it all by himself, like big projects like this usually don't see it to the end, because of dwindling motivation, lost interest, hate and all that being too much for one person to handle, but ChaosX has been working on this for years now without stopping, a fan and passion project with no monetary gain, that's mad impressive and he has all my respect for it
  • @brianvaira486
I hope Chaos X makes his own original game someday. I love the movement in project 06. It's just a shame that there's not a lot of times where Sonic can move freely since there are a lot of automated section in the original game. That's why the more open and less scripted stages went from my least favorite levels in the original game to my most favorite.

Admittedly I never finished Sonic 06, P-06 was a project I heard about early on but had no faith in because most Sonic projects at the time were nice and pretty tech demos and gimmicks that either overstay their welcome or don't commit to what was promised. I now WANT to play this, and the good rep this project has gotten recently as well as a general growth in tolerance has reminded me I was a hardcore Sonic fan at one point. And Sonic 06 was a game that on purchase excited me. It looks good, and maybe it'll be bittersweet
  • @UltimateSpinDash
The people criticizing ChaosX for even attempting this should be ashamed of themselves, really. That kind of the attitude is the reason why we so often just can't have nice things, and it can really weigh down passionate creators.

P06 relative to S06 is living proof that any game can be a massive success, but in order to do so, the games need to be given the time they need to properly breathe. Another example of this is Frontiers.
  • Silver’s tropical jungle intro animation looks like it came straight out of Crash 4, and it’s mind-blowing that it was made by like 2 people

I remember playing 06 when I was 9 years old, and honestly I enjoyed that game a lot, like way way more than I should have, it was basically my favorite game for a good 3 years. Gonna be fun to play P06 to return to it and see what was changed
