It still makes me happy to see James and Billy together again

billy: "i got my gish guitar back" gish guitar: "i got my billy back"
  • @Verlf
never been a huge Pumpkins fan, but seeing Corgan this relaxed and maybe even happy is very comforting somehow

Gish reminds me of jeans, Docs, flannel/t-shirts, record stores, coffee shops, and cheap concert tickets. I miss those days.

“Sound of my youth and a few other peoples”..., bit of an understatement.
  • @Elligons
"The sound of my youth." Such a touching story.
  • Legend has it, if Billy brought D'arcy back into the band, Courtney Love's witchcraft spell would be broken, and Billy's hair would grow back. So the Gish guitar has told me in my Siamese dream.

“You can’t fake that wear pattern”. *fender custom shop trying to sell signature version for 6k- “hold my beer”

The sounds that guitar made are so damn iconic. It just sent chills down my spine when I heard Billy play it.

This guy has access to the best guitars normal people can only dream about. And to see his affection for this very modest Strat, from the worst Fender era by many accounts, says a lot about what makes a true musician and a great artist. Cheers

It’s so good watching billy and James as friends again.
  • @chrisridenhour
The 90's seemed to have an endless supply of great songwriters.
  • @jcb88ify
It's still nice to see Billy and James together laughing after all these years.
  • @joeylopo1353
“I feel like we’re on antique road show”. Billy. “ yea ok cool”
  • @n64glennplant
So glad you documented this 😍 hearing those riffs again on that guitar took me way back
  • @GrungeIsN0tDead
Made me more happy when I realized that James Iha was cheking out the guitar with him
  • @tidalboxer
I hope it inspires him to create Gish, Pisces Iscariot and Siamese Dream style music again. That was the best era. The early years.

Billy is dead on regarding the relevance of “The Gish Sound”. The beautiful jangley clean tones mixed with the amazing fuzz infused almost out of control tone of that Strat through the old Marshall’s up against James Iha’s chunky Les Paul tones was a recipe for one of the best guitar combo tones ever recorded. I was actually at the show at Saint Andrews hall in 1992 where this guitar got stolen and the show was absolutely unbelievable, one I will never forget! Without a doubt absolutely had an influence on me as a musician for the rest of my life. Not only is it awesome that he got this guitar back, it actually seems as though it sat hanging on the basement wall somewhere basically unplayed until it was returned to its rightful owner 👍
