Florian proving once again that there is no bad gear, there are only bad users. You make any instrument sing, man. Fantastic work.
  • @ionianechoes
They named it 404 so you'd never know if it's booting up or crashing.

There's just something about vibin and rocking out on the SP-404MK2 that I can't explain. I own a MPC X SE, but nothing compares to the fun I have creating on the MK2 🙏🏾✊🏾💚
  • Finally! I've used the MKII to make 100% of my music since getting it in January '23. I've made more music since then than I ever have, really feels like I found my perfect piece of gear. Great to see it get the Bad Gear treatment. ❤

Back about 10 years ago when I was hanging out as part of a deeply alternative and chin scratchy music scene in the uk, every single act that came to play in our gallery space used at least 1 SP404 OG or SX. I remember one night where there were 5 of them set up across 3 different acts. It was the most ubiquitous music box I’ve ever seen. My old machine spent half its life loaned out to other people for their live sets. I hope its descendants continue to be made and used in live music long into the future.

Finally! Ive been waiting ages for you to take the SP for a ride. It is my main thing. It was fun to watch you make a track. thanks for all the work you put into it.
  • @armignac
Thanks for another great Video! You can always get good sounds out of anything.

When you approach this machine after years of using the 404sx and mastering it, you fly around this thing and it is an absolute joy to use. It incorporates, arguably the best features from every SP into one machine, while also giving you class compliant audio and midi over usb. I have noticed that most people that are criticizing it are trying to use it to make EDM

Seeing the workflow of this compared to the old SPs and an MPCs, and then this video put me over the edge, ordered one yesterday. Your videos are terrific marketing.

I'm a person of simplicity: I see a new Bad Gear episode - I smash the thumbs up button.

I think this is a box that just doesnt need anything else. It shined in your house jam by itself, no need for more. I loved that jam :face-red-heart-shape: I could easily listen to complete tracks like that.

Nice. It’s one i won’t sell. It can be used in so many ways… standalone music maker, just a sampler, a loop maker (my fav), an fx box, dj tool, a music recorder…. I’ve even hooked it up to my daw and used it as an outboard fx unit and re-sampler. I don’t use it on every song… and don’t typically make full tracks on it… but do use it and enjoy it.

I just ordered one for my DAWless setup, and man...I'm VERY excited! Thanks for the video, Florian...this thing is gonna push my tunes into the next level, I have no doubt!
  • @chrism5931
Your new vid is checking all the boxes, as usual man. Keep it up!

compact sp-1 is actually an amazing idea. great episode, loved the end jam!!

Yes! One on my go-to instruments makes it onto Bad Gear! I love the SP-404 Mk2! Yes it's frustrating at times, and the workflow is definitely clunky, but 16 minutes stereo sample time per pad? Can't beat that at this price point.

It's good to see Florian recognizing companies that still fail to satisfy our analog needsđź‘Źđź‘Ź

what a masterpiece, every video on this channel is gold but this one truly amazes me✨
  • @deebaker4671
The machine is dope ! The problem is in the creativity of the user. If Dilla & Madlib made classics with the very limited SP 303 and you can’t make banging tracks on the 404MK2, then you are the problem. Just keeping it 💯.
