Alternate Title: Collecting Obsidian with Herobrine.

Shoutout to Herobrine for ruining the end of the video, I dunno what the hell he did to my video

I made the mod and I actually kinda agree with this perspective. As someone who has been into horror since I was 6 or 7 From The Fog doesn't even scare me. I do jump when I am hyper-focused on something and I turn around and he's there or something, but overall From The Fog wasn't built to be scary. It was built to bring the user back to simpler time where in your mind Herobrine was there, watching you from the fog. After being exposed to horror over the years I only get scared by very specific things, and Herobrine isn't one of them. So yeah I do agree, it's crazy how sometimes you can make something for one purpose and the community switches it completely. Also, very funny video!

we've been summoning herobrine wrong this whole time we were supposed to use obsidian
  • @kimmyjohnny31
Herobrine had enough and corrupted the entire fight with the dragon 💀
  • This confirms herobrine is a geologist, he's so intrigued by your obsidian that he probably doesnt even see the wooden bat in your other hand ready to smack him across the room

I like this take on Herobrine. He's not "big scary evil Minecraft ghost Herobrine", he's just your quirky roommate Hero Brian who likes to see what you're doing over your shoulder and has a special interest in igneous rocks. Reminds me a bit of my younger brother, which is apt given the creepypasta origins.
  • I have a really odd experience from this mod. I was bored and had way too much food, but I also had a melon farm. Instead of eating these melons, I made this giant staircase made of melons in the middle of nowhere going straight up to nothing. It looked ugly as sin. Herobrine one day showed up and vanished with a sign saying "Stop" in front of my house. Then when I approached the melon staircase, he was standing right in front of it and he placed another sign. "Stop." I interpret this as him telling me to fuck off and stop making this eyesore of a build.

This is like a commentary on minecraft youtubers playing "horror" mods. There's no screaming, no intense music, he just gives a neutral "yeah, it's him." and that's somehow more entertaining.

i feel like one of the only ways for it to be actually horrifying is to add it to a modpack without people knowing

Why wouldn’t Herobrine love obsidian? It’s one of the hardest blocks to obtain in bulk, so he’s admiring someone who’s as avid an obsidian collector as he is, spending their time mining obsidian.
  • This mod makes Herobrine seem like an Omnipotent Autist: teleporting in, glaring, and running away from his normal brother Steve.

I can not believe herobrine would ruin the recording of the dragon fight and ending like this
  • @Musashi337
Honestly might play that mod just to have some company in solo survival, bro's just a chill guy that watches you.
  • @hevnet
get yourself a partner who looks the same way at you as herobrine watching people mining obsidian

Herobrine: DONT LOOK AT ME Also Herobrine: up in your ear I SEE YOU ARE ALSO A OBSIDIAN FAN
  • @null6209
This video resumed in a sentence: "Damn herobrine, didn't realize you were chill like that"

Fun fact: he actually watches quite frequently while invisible. I copied everything from my 2B instance to the new one for this mod, which included my hacked client, wurst, which lets me see invisible entities. A player shaped entity on multiple occasions showed up, didn’t move, and then vansihed. I also noticed the entity didn’t appear on radar, or tracers.
  • It feels like you're treating Herobrine like an old friend you haven't seen. As if he is Minecraft's Nostalgia, a relic of the past that you knew, at a younger age. It is refreshing yet nice to see that. :)

One thing I would suggest doing to make it a bit scarier is to set the sighting chance to "rare". I've found that when doing so, you seem to forget about it, until you hear running footsteps behind you or something. I'm using a world where I have ModernBeta and a few resource packs to make the modern game feel more like Beta, and when you keep the fog setting really low like 2 chunks or so, you don't see Herobrine very often and end up getting spooked by it's other tricks such as ominous signs and footsteps. It makes it much creepier in my opinion.
