Sally is 10 years older, but I always followed her career and what a life she's had. Pretty and sweet and smart and feisty! All around perfectly American icon. I just love her!

Her time in Steel Magnolias is the one I still remember well. It was so good I actually bought the CD. Sometimes even now in my 50's I'll just let it play because the whole movie is just that good. But it's really Sally Field's role that gets me almost every time, that scene where she is weeping at the death of her daughter. Sometimes it's good to let yourself slip back to 1989 to remember some better times. I'm glad she showed there are still some sacred hearts in Hollywood. ♥

I will never forget the movie Sybil. But Steel Magnolias, Murphy's Romance, Places in The Heart, and of course, Soapdish all show her marvelous versatility . I have to say, though, I have been a big fan since Gigit! 😊

Sally is one amazing lady and actor whom I admire enormously. She's well known for so many varied roles. One of her finest is the mom to Julia Roberts in "Steel Magnolias" for which she should have received an Oscar Nomination as she did a Golden Globe Nomination. It's a role not often talked about, but she delivers a very powerful performance. It's a movie I love. If you have never seen it, put it on your list of films to see. You won't regret it!
