  • I would like to thank you Sir for getting me off of turpentine. Two years sober, never going back👍
  • Overcoming one's own doubts about one's self, are the only true barriers to any creative endeavor. Do not allow any negativity to interfere - just get started. Beginners or experienced artists can learn from the masters, like Mr. Davies.

I love the idea of “starting as If it doesn’t matter”. I find when I paint without preconceived expectations I usually turn out with a much better painting and enjoy the process so much more. Great advice!

I fell a sleep watching this tutorial, not that you are boring , as I love your all your videos, but your voice is so relaxing to listen to. I had the most interesting dream that I met you at this party and we were outside looking at the apocalyptic sky and discussing how to paint it.
  • @ericathefae
Oh my god, I love your voice! I've been trying to find a good resource to learn from and you're the first where I instinctively thought "yes, this guy I want to listen to".
  • You are a natural. I so enjoy the relaxed and conversational lesson. Thanks for bringing out your fun personality.

"Brazen abandonment" — my new favorite phrase. Always a delight, Stuart. And always educational and inspirational.
  • @oOPTICKZz
I absolutely love the way you talk about painting! It helps me to stop stressing the small things. It’s stunning how you can inform us how to paint in such a relaxed way but be so informative. Thank you sir for your videos , they’re great !
  • @NateKyng
    1. Your voice is so soothing. 2. I have bad back problems too! 3. Thank for you just getting into it and showing technique...so many "How to" videos includes way too much about the surfaces, brushes, cleaners, tools etc... and then barely any painting! I learn by watching, so thank you for providing a peaceful tutorial. The more I watch, the more eager I am to get into it! 4. lol I have OCD for perfection, so being chaotic - or more so un-orchestrated - is gonna be my challenge in all of this. But I think that'll help me in coping with mistakes and not being so critical of myself even beyond art.

I have found that mistakes I make are the best learning tool. Every successful venture starts with mistakes. Failure sticks in my memory. Remembering mistakes prevents me from making the same mistake twice. Happy painting everyone!!
  • @tattoojack1969
Wonderful. You’ve given me hope that I can return to painting after a 30 year absence !

Me, an award winning artist who peaked too early in my early 20s, and lost my art career after marriage and kids, I’m grateful for your videos to help me jumpstart my artistic career... I’m quitting my current jobs to solely focus on my art and kids.. having a job actually destroyed me mentally and physically.. my calling is the arts

That strip of bright water focal point took it to another level. Great video.

noby knows what pain is until your back goes out, sciatic nerve all way to the foot and the dreaded "spasm" were even blinking your eyes sends a bold of lightning/pain to the brain and beyond...i had 2 herniated, 2 ruptured various levels...took 30 years till they were settled i guess but remain on garde...great lesson too, thanks and i did wonder why you were absent but i understand and hope for the best..don't get surgery tho...Im an old orthopaedic nurse
  • @klabonk
Glad to see you back at it Stuart. I just had spinal fusion on July 1st, L4 -L5 and L5 - S1 back pain is something I’m very familiar with. Never had a problem with my back until I blew it out at work four years ago, and then a very bad car accident piled on top of that, I had no alternative. Build up your core and protect that back of yours! I have to say, the surgery was an absolute success, and I walk without pain for the first time in years!
  • @brucelawson642
Thank you for this tutorial. You are a good teacher😊

  • I swear to God this man makes masterpieces just FIT together right before my eyes and I don't know how. Woah
  • @Alexandria197
