It's so difficult to cry and sing. Alicia killed it.
  • @yvonaj3493
I feel like she transformed her cry and pain into singing and it's perfect

For those of you saying she sounds terrible, remember, shes singing at a friends funeral. ....its not a performance!
  • @teeahtee387
I don't care if she's struggling while singing, her performance was really emotional and gave me shivers. Alicia is just so talented and beautiful! Her words were so heartwarming and sweet.
  • @cnsuela
Alicia Keys singing is amazing heartwrenching. Alicia is not in the studio singing for a track. Alicia is at the funeral for her beloved friend singing from her heart.

i hate how people were treating this like it was a mainstream performance at an awards show. I can only imagine how hard it may be to sing at a funeral when you're trying not to cry. I can only imagine how hard it may be.

How could anyone say she was bad this was so emotional and on point Alicia is a beautiful soul and so positive this was amazing

Scrolling through here I was glad to see so many people giving Alicia support. She deserves all the credit in the world for even getting up there to do this. It was a beautiful tribute to a friend, a loved one. Not a friggin concert performance! I've been to many funerals. Could never do what she did here. And I'm sure Whitney would've been honored to hear the love poured out here. That's what really matters.
  • IN MEMORY OF MY DAUGHTER AMANDA MIGUEL MANCHA 1/17/1986-3/21/2002 I LOVE YOU MISS YOU TREMENDOUSLY DAUGHTER WE ALL LOVE YOU
  • While everyone saying she sounds terrible...she sounds like she have lost a friend...a true friend. I think if you was in that position, you would not care how you sound, as long as you are honoring your friend. She did great under the circumstances of being emotional. Singers lose their voices being that way and for her to hit those notes like that shows she is talented and singing from her heart. UPDATE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ!!! I AM RESPONDING TO THE PEOPLE WHO SAID SHE SOUNDS TERRIBLE! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU MAKE A COMMENT! SHE SOUNDS JUST FINE AND HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!! I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HER BUT DEFENDING HER IN HER SITUATION! THANK YOU!

This was perfect in every way. The lyrics, the emotion, the pain- how beautifully daring and real. It was fitting and the flaws didn't take away from it.

Five years later and I still watch this video. Pure, raw emotion. NOTHING makes a song better than that. Any song that can make you feel anything is a good song.
  • @miamimay3027
Whoever says she sounds terrible u have no idea how hard that song is especially holding back tears😢
  • @PurrJJ
I could feel the pain in her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAND SHE STILL SOUNDING BETTER THAN THE MAJORITY OF MAINSTREAM POP SINGERS ON THE RADIO
  • @jmdartist
Anyone who could possibly find fault with this sublime and raw emotional tribute has probably never loved deeply enough to know the true pain of LOSS...The sheer tsunami of grief that is evident in Ms. Keys' powerful & poignant voice is a testament to the little-known kindnesses and maternal generosity that endeared Whitney to many of her peers......Whitney was so special to so many, and the tragedy of her lost talent will haunt many hearts for a very long time...
  • @TRAVISMOET
Quarantine life got me watching a funeral over again 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️😥
  • @qubieuphoria
I can hear Whitney’s voice telling everybody to stop crying and cheer up. 😂 she was always the life of the party wherever she went.
