We meet Darlie Routier on Death Row in Texas, as she protests her innocence. Subscribe to Our Life: bit.ly/3dBMxvl

Susanna Reid travels to Texas, home of the most active death chamber in the United States, to meet Death Row inmate Darlie Routier, who denies murdering her two young sons. For 23 years, Dallas housewife and former cheerleader Darlie has claimed she had no part in the murders of both sons, who were stabbed to death just a few feet away from where she was sleeping. Darlie was convicted and sentenced to death by legal injection for killing one of her sons, and remains accused of murdering the other - despite there being no eye witnesses, no confession and no motive. Decades on, Darlie has refused a route off Death Row in exchange for her accepting her guilt. In this documentary Susanna goes on a journey, delving into the history of the case, meeting key witnesses and family members, to find out if she is as innocent as she claims. Could this be one of the greatest miscarriages of justice?

If someone killed my children I would only have one reason to live myself, to find the person who did it

The descriptions of how the boys were stabbed are so horrendous.....how could anyone do that to a child, makes me want to cry.
  • @Wildrover82
When she says, "I don't even know who did this" on the 911 call. Doesn't that seem like a peculiar sentence?
  • When you tell your family I met a girl, she's on death row for murdering her 2 sons,I can only imagine how happy your family is for you. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🥺

I cant believe this was 24 years ago, I remember this story like it was yesterday.

My sister died in a horrific car accident 10 years ago and anytime I bring her up, or someone else does, I can’t help but to cry. How does she not cry any time she speaks about her boys??

Funny thing I noticed is that she's not concerned that the monster that did this to her children is still out there. She is never terrified that the perp is still out there. It's just about saving her neck.
  • Just my thoughts: (1) an “attacker” would target adults first (2) where are bloodied footprints of the “attacker”? (3) what would be the motive of an “attacker” targeting the kids?

This woman is clearly not mentally right, her personality seems totally fake, like she doesn't feel real emotions but has learned (kinda) how to act human
  • @CRAZYTRACY4
Not a single tear came down when she was talking about her sons but actual tears come down her face when she talks about her inmate friends. Smh
  • Did anyone else notice she had dry eyes while talking about her boys but cried for Carla Faye Tucker?🤔

Absolutely incredible, I am literally hearing another version of what she stated years ago. 100% guilty

It’s weird that the new husband has had 2 wives that have passed away from cancer and he sought after a woman on death row.

One thing that stood out to me is that she saw Damon and he was" lying on his back".. she then says " I could tell he had been stabbed in his back". How could she tell he was stabbed In his back if he was laying on his back?

Never had darlie said whoever murdered my kids we will find you

I base a person's guilt solely off the evidence that is presented. I take exception to those who judge a person's guilt solely off their behavior after someone close to them dies. There isn't one way to handle grief detachment, depression, denial and delusion are all coping mechanisms. Just because you think you would handle a traumatic event a certain way doesn't mean others would as well. This how you end up with people faking false emotions in certain situations to emulate what the perceived perception of grief should be. Making themselves look guilty regardless. The truth is if someone else thinks you're guilty no manner of emotional response is going to satisfy their doubts about you.

I will not ever understand how anyone let alone a mother could hurt a child. So absolutely heartbreaking. I have a 5 year old. I just want to go fetch him from school now and hold him.
