Don’t think he gets enough credit. Has made some great music and created interesting guitar licks.
-
i can watch Tom talk about anything for hours
-
This video perfectly encapsulates the reason Tom is a guitar icon - not because of skill but his authenticity in why and what he does. Thank you Tom and Fender for bringing us the amazing music and this piece of art back!
-
Thank you Tom and Fender for making another dream come true for all of us nostalgic kids! We really appreciate this.
-
This is the best interview I've seen with Tom. Very self reflective and aware of his work, what it is and what it's not.
-
The second bridge riff from “First Date” is so cleverly written. It’s almost impossible to figure out where it begins and ends once it gets going. It’s genius.
-
I can’t even fathom how many kids picked up a guitar in the last 20+ years because of this guy.
-
Totally nailed it when he mentioned essentially combining lead & rhythm guitar into one part. Doing it that way just works so much better when it's one guitarist and it's so fun to write like that.

Tom DeLonge was the first rock star I truly connected with when I was 15 in the early 2000's. I have so much love and appreciation for him and the rest of Blink 182. I cannot wait for the new album!

Tom Delonge and minimalist John Frusciante (from the Californication to By the Way era) inspired a generation of kids to pick up a guitar in the late '90s/early '00s. It was just simple riffs, simple chords, no capos, no weird tunings and one guitar for the whole song. What a great time to learn the guitar.

One of the most influential musicians ever. Glad I have a chance to snag one of these bad boys
-
Every guitar player needs to hear this message Tom's relaying and really take it to heart.
-
He is right. They had that habit of mixing riffs and power chords which set them a part from Green Day. I remember talking about that with my friends in high school! Greetings from Italy!
-
"Just make some noise". Best quote and inspiration for young musicians coming up in the world. Thankyou #TomDeLonge #Blink182 , you are so appreciated and admired. Friggen awesome. I have a band of 12-13 year olds learning Blink 182 Songs in 2023. It is very cool to stand on the side and watch them enjoy trying to replicate or cover these songs. Magic!

say whatever you want about tom, but he is one of the greatest artists from his era & a member of the greatest pop punk band to ever do it.

I love that after all these years, Tom (and Mark as well) still are so humble about their own skills as musicians. I've never once heard them claim they were even good guitar/base players, let alone great ones, and hearing Tom say his goal was just to be "decent" made me chuckle. These guys are actually pretty good now, but they've always given all the credit to Travis in terms of musical talent. Even if he's never going to win any best guitarist awards, he's definitely got an ear for rifts & catchy melodies, and can find ways to make awesome music anyway.
-
i'm never gonna own this guitar but i love watching him talk
-
" some people work their whole lives to be a great guitar player or singer, maybe I can be decent at both because I just want to write my own songs " I really REALLY needed to hear that. I almost didn't click on this video

Tom the legend is back and better than ever. And they’re even more amazing live. Can’t wait for the new album Tom. Blink for life 🤘

A true legend! Thanks Tom for inspiring millions of kids just like us over all these years 🤍
