"This area is really dark and I'm trying to make it brighter." - Homeowner

Daylight and Soft White are both colors of light being emitted from the Light Bulb. When shopping for your next light bulb, you will want to pay attention to the Kelvin Scale. The lower the number results in a warmer tone (more yellow). The higher the number results in a cooler tone (more blue). You should aim for the 2700 - 3500k range.

3000 is Bright White and a homeowner can and should use it in places such as: Outside, basement lights, your favorite lamp, freestanding lamp, or even a table lamp. Anyplace where you want a BRIGHT light this is what we suggest you should use.

Additionally, by switching out your incandescent lights for an LED Light Bulb (like the 3000k Bright White), you are making your home more enjoyable and more pleasant. It's easier on the eyes and it's a more natural light.

There's an incredible amount to learn about light bulbs, but this will give you the basics of light bulbs when it comes to understanding the color. Take a watch and let us know what you think!

I like the warm lights. It makes the room feel more welcoming and cozy. The other makes me feel like I'm in a cold industrial area.
  • These color preferences are also affected by weather in different parts of the world. Those living in cold icy places overly prefer very warm lights, because it mimics warm sun ,whereas those living in hot sunny humid may prefer slightly cooler colors.
  • POV: you’re here after buying Soft white bulb thinking it is actually white.

I have warm lights, and I've never liked it, it hurts my eyes and sometimes makes me dizzy bc i can't think and see properly with the color of the light being all yellowy orangey.

I like: 2700K for outdoors and living room, 2700K for table lamps, 3000K for bedrooms and dining room, 3000-4000K for bathrooms, 4000-5000K for kitchen and garage Feit Electric bulbs are long lasting and they are dimmable
  • I prefer a 5000k over 2700k 2700k light in my house was kind of a dingy light and too yellow

I'm here because I bought a 4-Pack of Walmart's Daylight 60W LED light bulbs.. And, well, I actually like the color of these in my living room..

I personally like the daylight bulbs. The ones I like are 5000k 860 Lumen.

Thank you for this information! My husband and I prefer NOT to get the yellow/warm light bulbs and mistakenly buy them sometimes. But the 4100K or 5000K is perfect.

I have to be honest, I absolutely hate the yellow/orange light in your demo. It also makes my eyes see hazy. I would love to see a demo on regular daylight bulbs and sylvania reduced eye strain daylight led bulbs. I hate the color the soft white led bulbs turn the shades to my fixtures. it makes them look dirty.

I painted my kitchen a cheery yellow & then put in a 5000K Edison bulb it it was so sickly looking. Ug! Quickly replaced it with a 2700K Edison & it looks normal & cheery colored again.

Generally speaking you want a brighter white light for a bathroom, typically 4000-5000K. The rest of the rooms work well with bright white 3500K. Outside landscape lights work best with soft white between 2700 and 3000K.

I had no idea about this 'k' thing. I bought 5,000k bulbs and it shines a harsh white for a living room. Your video clearly shows what I am looking for. On Wednesday, I am going to buy 2700k bulbs. Thank you. ☮

I love daylight bulbs at least for the inside of my house

Those warm lights make me feel like I am stuck in home. I can barely read books. I move back and forth among US, Korea and Japan and every time I am in the states, having no lights on the ceiling is bugging me. This was great to know. I am going for minimum 4000k
