Is Royal Purple's full synthetic 5W-30 motor better than Amsoil's 100% synthetic 5W-30 motor oil? In this video both products go head to head in several tests. Both Amsoil and Royal Purple are very high quality synthetic motor oils. I bought both of these products using my own money. I am not sponsored by Amsoil or Royal Purple, and I do not sell Amsoil or Royal Purple products. The testing methods outlined in this video are my own and not performed using expensive oil lab testing equipment or following the ASTM, SAE or API testing standards. The three tests outlined in the video include tests for viscosity at varying temperatures, film strength, and evaporative testing. In my opinion, the testing approaches used in this video provide consumers with valuable information on choosing the right motor oil for their specific application. Your tests show us more information than anything consumer reports or other "professional" testing organizations do. Thank you as always.

I had heard royal purple was “the best” by some peoples anecdotes, and so I started using it in my vehicle. That new and “cooked” cold flow test really blew me away. I might be switching to Amsoil now

Something is wrong with me. I can’t stop watching oil competitions.

The oil races are even better than NASCAR nowadays. Great videos, Todd. I often watch alot of them even when I'm not in the market for what you're testing. This is my favorite channel on YT.

Can we get petition going for this man to immediately be given his own cable show and channel?

I have been using Amsoil in my 2002 7.3L Diesel Excursion right after I watched the dealer install the wrong oil on the first oil change. Still going strong and since installing an FS2500 oil bypass filter, even better. The FS2500 was about the only one available when installing the bypass filter in those early days. 👍👍👍. 12-21-21

I have watched almost all of your videos over the past several years and really enjoy your engine oil ones. I own my own trucking company and would like to a make a suggestion for you to test Ford Diesel Oil, Shell Rotella Diesel Oil, Schaeffer Diesel Oil, and Lucas Diesel Oil both synthetic and regular. I started running Lucas over Schaffer’s due to cost and want to make sure I’m not ruining my engines. In my experience with Rotella, my engines have always burned oil and with other brands I do not. I want to make sure the oil I’m using is safe for my engine. I trust and respect your results that you come up with in your videos and would appreciated an unbiased answer from someone I trust.

What makes these tests of yours so significant is that you're not sponsored by any of the companies who's products you test, you use your own testing equipment and methodology and you don't trick the tests. 100% unbiased results.

I can see you in the store buying the griddle. Sales person: “This griddle is the best non stick there is.” Project Farm: “That doesn’t matter I only cook oil.” Sale rep: “You mean you only cook with oil.” Project Farm: “No I cook just the oil. Where are your coffee pots?”

I just pulled apart a 400k mile engine that's been run on amsoil its entire life and the factory cross hatching was still visible on the cylinder walls!

Thanks for doing that test. I’ve been using Amzoil oil and filters for 20 years. I’m happy with the results so far.
