Didn’t know I needed some ASMR sloth breathing, but yeah...😂
  • @Buntz-Gyokuto
This is indeed an insane concept for tracking! If only caketinz excel style and Sloth bar show could meld into the perfect tracking system with colorful charts! lol
  • @LauraAGrace
I was about to say that I was surprised you didn't have an excel sheet before this! I actually like how this seems to work compared to the Bookshelf app, which is the only tracking app I knew before this (though don't use)! I really like how you can make different groups because me and my nerdy self likes tracking and seeing the demographics I own, but I'm also too lazy to keep up with a spreadsheet (which I only did for my latest collection video LOL) so I might give this is a try! I'm assuming you can use your phone to scan in the titles too if you don't have a barcode scanner? Great video!
  • Just WOW! TheMangaSloth really be looking out for the greater community who's either too busy or too lazy to keep up with a manual labour spreadsheet📚 You had our backs with the book-risers and now with the book-beeper too🌟 TheMangaSloth really is the gold standard of manga content🥇
  • I don't like to use apps for things like this, since they can (and will be) not supported/exist one day. I trust the Excel sheet I started nine years ago when I first moved, and add to it every time I do a manga haul. In all those years, I only had one double, but that was partially the publisher's fault and I could exchange the volume quickly.
  • Thank you so much, Sloth!! I’ve been manually typing in each title with volume numbers and whether they’re complete/still serializing/cancelled/etc. I also had to alphabetize my library manually as well. This video helped me so much! I ordered one of those bar scanners and got the Libib app! I can already tell it’s going to make everything so much easier! Hopefully it’ll help me from buying accidental duplicates.. 😅😂😁

Thank you so much for this video!! I just want to add that there is an app that is synced with the site, no need to buy a barcode scanner, you just scan with your phone (don't know if somebody has pointed that out already).
  • @TheDarkSage
Manga Sloth putting everybody on with this one. Having a scanner is still funny to me though
  • @alphawolfi
Woooooow !!! I was going to start writing it on Notion & that scanner changed my mind. I will keep it in mind to see if it works to track my physical games collection. Thank you very much, friend! ❤
  • @amberneal5081
Balls..... 20+ years of bookkeeping my manga down the drain. I have purchased to many duplicates not to adopt this system. Thanks manga sloth!!!
  • @helofn4956
wooow, now that is really helpful. Btw that kuma statue in the background is fire!
  • @keesh2736
Nice! I can use this for my novels as well
  • @ZckFox
This is a very intriguing idea. Another use case would be that if you have a very large collection bookshelf like the mangasloth, seems like you can label sections of your shelf to identify in your catalogue where the volume is located. I use a google spreadsheet that I can access from my phone wherever to track my collection. Tracking volumes of manga that I own as well as identifying if the series at the time of last update is is still ongoing or if the series has ended, or if I've dropped the series. Because my collection is a mix of physical and digital manga, I'm not sure how well the scanner system would work for me.

Nice video sloth!! I just used a spreadsheet to track my manga but I’m gonna have to look into this now!
  • @Harleigh_19
I've been using Libib for a couple of years now for my Blu-ray and video games and I absolutely love it. I definitely need to get my manga and books on there too.
  • I use excel...it's part of my ritual to add a manga to the spreadsheet after I read it.
  • @twaits8676
Currently using Bookshelf, Libib looks pretty cool though, have thought about switching. It's do or die at this point as the collection continues to grow. I do enjoy a couple things on Bookshelf like setting reading goals for myself, and it will track it for me, ie setting a goal of 20 volumes for April.
