How Can We Determine the Maximum Value Within an Interval?

Published 2023-06-10
Typically, to determine the local minimum or maximum value of a function, we calculate the function's derivative, set it equal to zero, solve for x, and substitute that x into the function. But what if the function is discrete and is undefined at certain points? In this video, Isabella demonstrates an alternate way of determining a maximum value when a discrete function is bounded between zero and one.
