Considering that the video game industry is now over fifty years old (you know, if you count Pong as the point where it all started), then it’s really not surprising that it’s given us gamers plenty of big moments that have stuck in our collective memories. But have you ever sat down to wonder which ones are the most iconic? We certainly have, and it’s for this reason that we’ve decided to bring you today’s big list. Every entry is something that’s happened in one of our favourite games that has stuck with us long after the credits have rolled. They can be as small as a single quote or as big as the death of a beloved character, but what matters, is that they’ve stayed on our minds and in our hearts in the years since their respective games’ release. Here are the 101 Most Unforgettable Moments in Gaming History.

  • Thanks so much for watching, everyone! Which iconic gaming moments are unforgettable to you? 🎮
  • @phoenixfaze1
For me the most unforgettable has got to be Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid. Having to change controller ports so he couldn't read your mind was next level clever at the time. As was him being able to tell you what was on your memory card too
  • @hohf85
I remember playing Halo 3 with my best friend when we were younger and that final mission where you whip the warthog around had both of us losing our minds. Such an awesome ending to one of the best games of all time
  • Once again one of my favorite gaming channels easily hands down. Hope you guys continue to grow the channel.
  • I don't have much experience gaming but when I was a little kid and played super Mario 3 and going through world 5, the first time I found out there was most of the world is in the clouds... that shocked me so much. Nobody told me, and the first time I had the skills to do that was a magical moment.
  • I dunno, I'd say Super Metroid's big unforgettable moment was the final few moments of the game. "The Baby" begins to drain Samus, realizes who she is and hurries away, only to come back in the Mother Brain fight to save Samus and drain Mother Brain of all of her power, sacrificing itself in the process. That was some great 16-bit storytelling right there and I'd say it was a much more satisfying and unforgettable ending than just showing Samus without her suit on at the end of the original Metroid 😅

    101. Knights of the Old Republic (2003) - The Identity of Darth Revan - 2:20 100. Far Cry 4 (2014) - Waiting for Pagan Min - 3:46 99. Resident Evil 2 (1998) - The First Licker - 5:08 98. Grand Theft Auto IV (2006) - "Niko, it's Roman! Let's go Bowling!" - 6:26 97. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt (2015) - The Unicorn - 7:41 96. Bioshock: Infinite (2013) - "There's Always a Lighthouse. There's Always a Man. There's Always a City." - 8:45 I'll do some more tomorrow...
  • @Ivotas
Fun fact about Roman's invitations. There was an easy way around them without suffering any consequences. Just accept his invitation and after you end the call, call him right back and cancel. He will always understand and your relationship stays the same.
  • The Elephant mission from It Takes Two will always be one of the most memorable moments in gaming I've ever had. That game was such a great time, with a lot of inventive, beautiful set pieces.
  • @rustytanks
One of my favourite gaming moments was in CoD Black Ops, it happened in the "Roof Tops, Numbers" mission in Kowloon China, it wasn't about the gameplay, but the background music that was played, simply loved it.
  • One of the best gaming moments for me was in Final Fantasy 4 (corrected). I played it as Final Fantasy 2 way way back on the SNES. In the final battle, the entire party is on the brink of defeat (1 HP each). When all hope looked lost, you received help from every character who had joined your party throughout the entire game.
  • @synthetic20
This list is a really cool look at gaming history. The only moment that I'm stunned about is Final Fantasy X. A kiss is more iconic than learning that the summoner is sacrificed? That entire sequence is one of the best cutscenes I can even remember, and it's the emotional fulcrum of the story. I'm shocked that it didn't at least get a mention. I would be happy to see another list like this though. I definitely feel like there would be at least 101 more moments that would be worthy of this kind of spotlight. The final story reveal in To the Moon, The final transformation of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and the appearance of junimos for the first time in Stardew Valley would up there for me.
  • Honestly, a list like this could help bolster the argument that video games are art. The fact that we have more than 2 hours of content here, detailing iconic moments in games from across the years, that leave an impact as big as any movie, TV show or song, it really shows what the medium can do and the kind of impact they can leave when done exceptionally well.
  • @CrazeeAdam
The dog's return in the remake of RE4 is even more epic imo. Hewie such a good doggo <3
  • I sat in a line for hours to get the midnight drop of gears 2, Dom was my favorite character, and when he finds Maria I was devastated
  • @michaell7778
My boy Lavitz dying in the Legend of Dragoon absolutely would've made my list but you guys still did a bang up job. I can think of quite a few more if you ever feel like doing a "101 more" list anytime soon.
