World’s Smallest Violin | OC Animatic

AHHHHH I NEVER EXPECTED THIS TO GET SO MUCH ATTENTION! This is honestly insane. I am so excited to share the project I’m working on and any others I start in the future. I really hope some of you are able to stick around and enjoy my work :D

I feel like this character's story is essentially a take on "the child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" taken to its literal extreme.

Ok this is what I gathered

His dad was the king and died in a war
He left his mom to go adventureing
When he comes back he finds that there is a new unjust ruler on the throne.
He joins a rebel group against the new king who has the throne unfairly
He feels like an outcast in the group because
1 everyone else had it worse and
2 nobody really talked to him or became his friend
They finally face the king and he used his powers and scared everyone in his group
His went to a tavern to relax and guards came in to take him to jail
his powers get out of control trying to escape and end up trapping him in wood
Only one person came to save him and was forced to leave by a guard
He was imprisoned and had to escape by himself and saw that the same person who went to save him tried to brake him out
He recovered and found the girl at a tavern and they got into a fight about him being reckless
He left and was crowned the rightful ruler of his kingdom
Then his sister (or mother) finds out and takes the crown from him.
He’s tired of everything that’s happened to him, the abandonment, being an outcast even amount outcasts, and he decides to burn down his kingdom.
Ps: I really like the imagery of everything being dark shades of grey except his fire.

This is so cool! I love the OC and the story into becoming a villain. I loved how there was an explanation towards his (is it a he?) actions. I would definitely read this or watch this more. So good!

Wow, I've watched a lot of original character animatics but this one makes me feel invested in each scenario in the video! I hope there's more on these characters on your channel!

As someone who writes a lot and can't draw I always find myself envying artists ability to express character emotion. You've got a talent for it, I've never been so invested in an animatic.

WOW. Just, WOW. I don't even know who these characters are, but I feel invested in your story. Your cinematography (is that the right word for it?) is so good. Ii has an amazing balance of visual cues that fit perfectly with the sounds. It's something that I've seen since your first animatic, and it only got even better!

I love this song so much! I love it even more when it's applied to a hero(?) to villain arc. Especially since it appears as though the main OC this about turns villain out of a combination of unfortunate events and negligence from his companions. Like he got put in prison and he had to break himself out. Then I'm pretty sure they replace him or something along those lines. Then he gets crowned (I think his father was a king of dubious morals, maybe an old antagonist of sorts, just by the way he was framed in the animatic).

I would love to read something and see more content for this, but I think I already have a favorite character both for design and story!

Edit: I wanted to add more takeaways from this song choice, lol. I think that his dad, or ancestor, was an antagonist, so he was the root of a lot of the other protag's suffering. They probably had more bad things happen, like physical things. I think this song fits the main OC (you said the name was Lazlo) had more psychological torments. Those are a lot easier to push under the rug than things like 'this evil king burned my house down and slaughtered my family.' So that could be why Lazlo feels as though his struggles aren't valid, because he's surrounded by characters who have more blatant trauma, while he probably feels his problems 'do not count' because those things never happened to him. SO he's more likely to feel outcasted because of his lineage and he probably didn't have the best family life, but Lazlo probably thinks his problems are miniscule compared to others, even though he clearly has some abandonment issues.
Sorry for the rant pt. 2: the electric boogaloo. I love OC animatics when they are comprehensible and relatively clean. It makes me want more content, like some form of novel or webtoon.

I have to say. You did a wonderful work syncing everything with the music. I like the colors you choose and how things develop along with the music. You did a great hard work. Most people imagine things with music in the background while you decided to make it visual for others to appreciate too!
I hope to see how you progress as an animator or storyboard artist <3

This is quite close to how I imagined the feeling this song gave me.

The feeling of being emotionally and mentally in pain and wanting to share how you feel to someone else and that if you can’t while trying to find something that’s helps and make you feel better you end up hurting others in the process

“If I do not find somebody soon, I blow up to Smithereens and spew my tiny symphony, all up and down this city street, while trying to put at my mind at ease”

I don’t know if this makes sense but it what happens in my mind when I hear this song

I love this so so much?!!? The way he burns the whole kingdom down, the descent into it all. Just chefs kiss you did an amazing job! And all characters feel so distinct and their design are so interesting

Not so much in reference to the character himself, but I LOVE how you animate his fire power, less like his hand is on fire and he simply uses its power, and more like a true weapon, an extension of himself, like an ever changing chain of carnage and heat that he drags alongside him, it's truly beautiful

Woah this is so cool! Even without knowing the character names, the music being in the background to accompany but not what the characters say, you still give a brilliant picture of what went down.

A lot happens, that I somewhat understand. But this is genuinely so cool and you have my investment in these OCs/pos/pos

Why don't they have there own show, they deserve it their animations tell a story and have wonderful drawings, I hope to see them be the best animator on YouTube and every other platform in the future!
