How to disassemble and reassemble a Black & Decker DS-321 belt sander. Disassembly of the sander allows access for removal and replacement of parts like the switch and the brushes and it allows dust collection to be repaired by providing access to a dust collection port that can clog.

Thx Dave! I got some clothe rolled up one the belt and it was driving me crazy trying to remove it. Your instruction was detailed and easy to follow. Thx again!

Thank you for making this video! I was caught in the middle of a project when the power cord got caught in the belt. I would not have identified the secret screw in the moment and under pressure. Your video came to the rescue!! 🙏🏻

I have one of these at my job and I’m trying to clean it up to start using again. Hasn’t been used in years so thanks for the video. Very helpful and clear.

A well deserved "like". It's almost as if the manufacturers don't want you to be able to repair or service it....hmmmmm!
  • Thanks for posting the video! Helped me open it up and replace the power cord.

Thank you so much for this video. My sander's dust port was clogged and I was stumped as to how to approach it. Your video is very clear. Kudos!

Super Video, I would never have found the "secret" screw. Disassembled cleaned, worked the trigger a few dozen times and solved the problem of starting.

Usually, when searching for instruction, it's general information or a similar model at the very least. I have the exact same model sander, and watching this video was like watching someone actually working on my sander. After removing several screws and the dam thing STILL not coming apart I was about ready to throw in the towel. Per your instruction however, upon getting it apart I learned that the switch was not working. After flooding it out a couple times with carburetor cleaner it worked perfect!Additionally, I would not have thought to clear the sawdust port. I wondered why the bag always stayed empty. Just want to say thank you for generously providing this video!

Excellent. I really like all the colour screw diagrams and sizes they really helped. Changed my main lead which I accidentally sheared in the sander. Nasty but no shocks etc. because the tool is super safe.

Thanks so much for the clear, concise, and well explained video. It helped me fix my B&D Dragster belt sander, which I guess needed the brushes cleaned. I was stumped at getting the body apart until I found your video. That secret screw got me! Thanks again!

Thank you, sir! The sawdust exhaust port became clogged on the first day of use. Had a job where select vinyl floor tiles had been removed and the adhesive was stripped as best as possible. Used this sander to resurface the substrate but there was apparently just enough glue/residue to foul up the exhaust rather quickly. Don't even think I filled 2 bags before it was completely clogged. This video certainly helped expedite the tear-down process.

Great video. The pictures with the screw locations are great and make if clear of their locations.
