Fact: On 30 March 2014, Jaba Kankava saved Oleh Gusev's life, who was playing for Dynamo Kyiv then, after Gusev lost his conciousness due to the collision he had with Dnipro's then goalkeeper during the match between Dnipro and Dynamo Kyiv. Later, on 12 April 2014, before Dnipro's match against Metalurh Zaporizhya, Jaba Kankava was awarded with Order of Merit by the government of Ukraine after his quick and successful action to save Oleh Gusev's life.
