Been called black sheep by my former pastor. I know he doesn't speak for God because he's human, and it doesn't deter me from God, just the organization. I believe because I want to, I have reason to, and I don't judge others for not. Listening to metal doesnt make me Evil, or any less Chrsitian. Rock on brothers and sisters.

"We build cathedrals to a pain, establish monuments to attain, freedom from all the scars and the sins...less we drown in the darkness within"...damn that line hits home

"Darkness Within" Here in this darkness that I lay Depression heavy in its weigh And how my body aches to leave To sing its final eulogy My sons I love you evermore And though the road beckons once more I see the damage that I've done In search for redemption But I am just a broken man Whose soul cries out to understand How the madness shatters me Upon the stage on bended knee I scream out loud at skies above That answer mute bereft in love I struggle not to fall from grace Or sing the hymns of my disgrace We build cathedrals to our pain Establish monuments to attain Freedom from all of the scars and the sins Lest we drown in the darkness within Mystery's forgotten chords I strum in vain to please the lord But he has never answered me My faith has waned eternally In empty men who pass along The woes of all religions wrong But now the Shadowed veil it falls Heed the Clarion call So pray to music build a shrine Worship in these desperate times Fill your heart with every note Cherish it and cast afloat 'Cause god is in these clef and tone Salvation is found alone Haunted by its melody Music it will set you free Let it set you free We build cathedrals to our pain Establish monuments to attain Freedom from all of the scars and the sins Lest we drown in the darkness within Music my saviour (Save me) We build cathedrals to our pain Establish monuments to attain Freedom from all of the scars and the sins Lest we drown in the darkness within

This song changes everything. It is so easy to relate our own lives to this, because it is such a common vein throughout metal music. We all treat this like it is our god. Our religion as such. Thank you Machine Head for providing us with this song.

Thank you, Robb, for not cutting this music video shorter like you did with Halo and Locust and The Aesthetics of Hate. This song means a lot to me. Music is my religion and has been with me for my entire life.

When I read comments on Tube about old Machine Head and new Machine and how they sounded before this and after that and which disc is better and which is worse all I can think off is how progressive this group is both musically and artistically. Their work cannot compete with itself as every album stands on its own yet is a part of Rob Flynn's ongoing process towards perfection. Yeah, awesome mighty Machine

Эта песня просто разрывает душу напополам! Эта песня - крик человека , который обращается к музыке за моральной помощью. Это не просто песня. Песня просто божественна как в плане вокала и музыки , так и эмоционально. БРАВО!!!

The Best Song In The World of All Time

This song never gets old

from their masterpiece "unto the locust". They shed their old NU-metal leanings. to become one of the finest heavymetal bands in the world. The angst and pain still is evident, but the music is simply genius. THey can tribute great bands like judas priest and rush, because they can easily share the stage. Davidian was a fantastic album, then they got lost for the 90s. Through the ashes of empires was the return. The Blackening was the proof, Unto the locust puts them on the mainsatage.

METAL IS MY RELIGION!
