We lived south of Russia four years and I learned while living international how to really cook meals from scratch....there are no prepackaged items and if you wanted hummus, you cooked the chickpeas, blended and had hummus. If you wanted spaghetti sauce you made it as no jarred sauces, If you wanted a cake you had to mix your baking items as there were no boxed mixes...I learned how to make corn and flour tortillas so many things that now we are back stateside and I haven’t gone back to instant cooking! Texans love you Jordan!!!

it’s 3am and i’ve been watching your videos for about 4 hours now and you’ve taught me more in these 4 hours than my parents have in 18 years. thank you

Keeping butter in the freezer is an awesome idea not only for storage, but using colder butter is really great for getting a flaky crust when you’re making things like pie!
  • Thank you! I inventoried all my food today. I've never done that in my life! I'm 71, raising two grandsons. I don't think I'll have to buy much next month. 😊

Take the beef bullion in a jar, add cream cheese, sour cream, little milk, ground beef, serve over noodles:bam. "Beef stroganoff" (ish ;) )

Am I the only one that gets excited to see Jordan pop in my notification feed😅?

I started buying a kilogram of whole coffee beans a few months ago and keeping it in the freezer. I grind up about two cups at a time to keep in the fridge. This keeps me happy at two cups a day for about three months, and it's budget friendly while saving trips to the store. So, I would add things like coffees and teas in the freezer, fridge and cupboards🌞💎.

I haven’t seen you mention this before but citrus fruits are super freezable. I buy limes and lemons when they’re on sale and put them directly into the freezer. Then when I’m making salsa or a fish dish I just grab the lemon or lime from the freezer, pop it into the microwave (peel and all!) for 45 seconds, and it’s ready to use. It’s not only convenient but you get twice the juice this way!
  • Your pantry is twice the size of my entire kitchen, I'm not even joking
  • @NurtureInChrist
Who else is watching this while hungry and suddenly feel hungry for EVERYTHING Jordan is pulling out of her fridge 🤣😂😋😍👏🏾 Awesome video with lots of great tips! Thanks and God bless you and your precious family Jordan ❤️🙏😘 Fernelle

When I lived alone, I could never make it through a loaf of bread or a bag of tortillas before they went bad. I’d keep them in the freezer and just pull out the 2 slices of bread to make a sandwich, or whatever I needed. It defrosts in just a few minutes on the countertop. Stuff goes moldy here fast too! I always save and freeze the bread ends too, then when I’ve collected enough, they go into the food processor for bread crumbs. Cream cheese melted in some Campbell’s tomato soup with some dried or fresh basil takes it to another level! It’s almost as good as La Madeline’s famous tomato basil soup.

  • @TheRosie2015
Hot tip on lunch meat: I’ve found it’s typically cheaper when you buy it from the counter and not in packages
  • @djterry1218
When butter is on sale at the grocery store I always stock up and freeze it. I also stock up on shredded cheese when it’s on sale and freeze it.👍🏼
  • Would you mind doing some cooking videos and showing us some of your recipes plz☺️
  • It would be so helpful if you did a like what we ate this week during shelfcooking month!!! Blessings girl!!! 💛

I love this topic especially since it's from someone else's perspective of what is considered a staple because every family is a little different. As far as apologizing for getting it up so late don't. I believe most of us understand that you have a family to take care of plus being pregnant so if there isnt a video posted we figured something came up which is perfectly fine 😊
