I find it alarming that a crash of a truck with batteries can cause this kind of shutdown and disruption of a major interstate thoroughfare. . If this is the best that we can do, then we are in trouble as a nation!

I don’t understand why they didn’t set up a detour. There’s a back way out of Baker that runs past Kelso Train Station, now part of the park system. I have taken it many times. That road runs up to Nipton where you can get back on the 15 Hwy. Just outrageous. The temperature must have been over 100 degrees.

They didn’t reroute the traffic just let everyone sit on the freeway WHF.

Something that dangerous should only have the best truck drivers. And the emergency crews should be trained to deal with this in a timely matter. This is not the first time this has happen and it won't be the last.

We drove from L.A. to Vegas for a friend's wedding yesterday. We used the Google Maps app and took the detours provided. It took a few hours longer but we got here! No problem!!!

My Cousin lives in Pahrump NV. Every time she leaves her house she takes water with her. When you live in the Desert you are prepared for things like this. Suggestion. Always make sure before driving across the desert you have Gas, water, and snacks! Be prepared!
