Some of the most dangerous rivers in the world look relatively harmless on the surface. But aggressive reptiles, toxic waters, hidden tunnels, or violent undercurrents, the rivers in this video all have one thing in common – they’re deadly. So join us for today's video, as we take a look at the Top 15 Most Dangerous Rivers in the World.

The girl dangling above the crocodiles infuriates me. Anything could have went wrong with that little stunt. Something seriously wrong with both of them!

The 6 foot narrow channel of the Wharfe is called The Strid. It's seriously scary to look at in what is an otherwise extremely mundane river
  • a few years ago I was boating on the Mississippi River with my dad, I never realize how strong the current was until we were on the water, going against the current at full speed & still moving backwards in the boat. one of the scariest moments of my life. Luckily we made it back to our campsite dry & safe.

19:12 The good thing about the mosquitos is that if you happen to be on the eastern banks of the Nile, you don't have to worry about the West Nile virus.
  • Terrible to see all the trash in that last river. That shouldn't be allowed to happen!!
  • This channel is the best. Great content. Best narrator. Informative af without makiin ya feel like you're learnin stuff , but really are lol

The mighty Congo river is a beast especially during intense rains
  • And depending on what country you're in, the Amazon can also be home to some less than savory anti-government types who aren't particularly fond of foreigners (especially Americans). You also have uncontacted indigenous tribes who rely on the river, though I'm more afraid for them than of them, since even the remotest contact with an outsider could infect them with illnesses to which they have no immunity.
  • That last river makes me so sick, how can those people live like that? You've killed everything that lived there. It's truly disgusting and it doesn't say much for the people living there because they don't care.😠
  • I'd say the Amazon tops that list in honesty, although I'm surprised not to see the Ganges mentioned. The River Ganges has fierce rapids, strong undercurrent, Bull Sharks and heavy pollution - definitely enough to put it on this list.

5:00 did he really just say crocodiles are not known for being too aggressive? They are one of the most aggressive creatures on the planet! 😂

I went to Thailand for a holiday a few years ago & i (being an Aussie) was absolutely shocked that the people that live literally in a shack on the river & used the river as the local garbo tip. They'd throw their garbage straight out the window into the water. Similarly the place we stayed absolutely reeked & there was rubbish all over the joint. Same deal, they'd throw their rubbish straight on to the street. A friend i went with tried to make the excuse it was so dirty coz they don't have garbo's to collect the rubbish like in any other normal country. Another of our mates said, i don't care if they have garbo's or not but just throwing garbage all over the joint is dirty as i said reeked, she said can't they actually throw their rubbish in a bin or plastic bag? No wonder they're very much a third world country.

I view rivers as a "Fuck around and find out" sign. It never hurts to stay TF away from them.
