Im a general builder and worked in many many houses over the years and have only ever seen these a couple of times. Very rarely on combi/condensing systems.

Classic style video - fab!! Do love the studio vids of course but also love this format in the 'real world' :) Cheers James and hope there will be more
  • Over here in France we use a rigid bar that bolts to the wall with feed & vent connections and a 3/4 female thread for the vessel. Great system strong robust.

I learn something every time i watch your video,s,I was totally unaware that these expansion vessels were a must on basically every combi boiler at least I think thats what your saying, and i will add there must be thousands of them out there with the extra vessel because we just did not know this , cheers again.

The expansion vessel from plumb centre is good. You screw the bracket to the wall. The vessel just hooks onto it and you tighten a screw from underneath and that's it.

Can you do a review on that B&M rectangular bowl and also do you have a discount code to get money off the 99 pence.

James have a look at how Scuba-Pro secure diving tanks to the Boyancy Jackets. A big strap that just clips around in one go. So easy to remove for servicing as well BOOM job done! Or look at doing something with Cargo Straps.
  • Just looking at your video I have a question for you when fitting a external expansion vessel to a combi boiler which as a magnaclean to you put the pipework about or below the magnaclean from the expansion vessel
  • There is a bracket for this. If you look for an expansion bracket. It come in different sizes. It is a right angle bracket that the bottom of the vessel sits on. Different sizes for different vessels. So simple and much more better. Can get them of eBay but like myself I made some before they came into existence for market. Now I buy them for £17 each . There you go. Fantastic work 😅

Plumberparts & Times with James. It just don't get better than that.

so i am about to fit 8lt expansion vessel above my airing cub'd on the 1st floor (off existing CH return pipe) the existing combi boiler is on ground floor, my question would be should I fit a bar pressure gauge to the vessel. fitting the Ex Vessel is solely to help the boiler strain

Old school plumberparts video oh yes !!! Regarding the thermolite blocks, I had a nightmare fitting my gun cabinet to them , then I found online Dewalt Gasbeton fixings. Drill a hole , screw them in and then use a coach bolt. Why don’t B&q or wickes stock them ????
  • @AlexEntirely
Another banger! Always a pleasure working for nice customers too, nothing more cringey than being the only one laughing at your own jokes in a strangers house :D

When you drain a system do you drain all the rads or do you turn them off and rebalance at the end? Do you save the liquid or throw it away and put in new inhibitor or whatever?
  • @BN-hy1nd
👍🏿 I have a mini expansion arrestor which isn't working in my opinion. Can I drain the system and then replace the arrestor with a new one? Much easier than recharging, I think.
