So Putin threatens to use nuclear weapons and says he knows that would destroy civilization. That makes him certifiably insane.

Russia is someone kicking an unarmed person to death while threatening bystanders trying to save him with a gun. F that
  • You would think that after WW 2 humanity would be smarter than this.
  • @MrDumper123
We don't need to use nuclear weapons to know civilised society is nearly over. Need and greed has doomed us all.

On December 5, 1994, the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom signed the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances to reinforce their commitment towards Ukraine's security. It was a political agreement based on the principles of the Helsinki Accords. The memorandum included security assurances to protect Ukraine's political independence and territory against any threat or use of force. Additionally, the countries pledged to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and existing borders.
  • Imagine taking life so serious that you threaten everyone’s life over land

All Putin needs to do to avoid Nuclear War is to NOT use Nukes.
  • When you think over it, us the 8 billion people on the only small ball we have to live on, and our very life-or-death is in the hands of some people in driver seats who have the quality and behavior of teenage schoolyard bullies

I remember in the late 1980's, while serving in the military, we were told that the technology existed then to put a small tactical nuke in someting as small as a backpack or even a briefcase. It sends chills up my spine when I wonder what they can do with today's technology.

If there is an alien world that can see what humans are doing to each other and this planet they must shake their heads in utter disbelief. It truly is very sad.
  • Well? All the rich folks believe that somehow they can survive in their bunkers. When they crawl out of their fraidy holes, what are they expecting?
  • So Surovikin saved the world with his genius? Without him and his success back then, we would be all dead right now? Thats crazy.
