NYC Renter Angie Eng had to find a new apartment quickly. With space and budget in mind, she searched for apartments in Brooklyn. After looking at five units, she picked a 350 square foot studio apartment in a rear carriage house. Budget, layout and square footage were all challenges, but it was important for Angie to recreate the space as her own. Here’s how she did it and even made the space look bigger!

  • Cheers to Angie and her wonderful studio! Starting over starts from home.
  • Angies vulnerable storytelling makes this space even more wonderful

Her gratefulness toward those who helped her in this transitory time absolutely shines. What a beautiful story of human connection. Her space reflects it.
  • I can't believe that's only 350 sq. Feet! It looks like double that space! This was one of my fave episodes. When she gave props to her friends i teared up cuz that's soo great she gave them credit but you could tell she's been through alot and really appreciated them soo much for being there. Her dog knows how to work it in front of the camera too 😄 Than you for sharing your spaces with us 🥰

I LOVE the framed Guccis. We all hate the feeling of parting with something we love that has been ruined and is no longer usable. What a creative way to repurpose a "ruined" treasure.

Very beautiful space and story. Im always annoyed at the idea of people "thinking" they did EVERYTHING on their own, this is a testament to understanding help is valued and needed.

She created self love out of loss. Her home is warm, comforting. Great use of space and design!

Her new apartment screams “perfect new beginning” I could feel the warmth and peace in the apartment which is perfect in her healing process🙏🏼 good for her❤️

Love the story…and those “angled painted walls” are a total win, transforming the space and tricking the eye. So unorthodox yet so right on!

I won't cry this early in the morning! Okay, no promises.I had a real connection with Angie's story and could see she has a beautiful home and personality. It is often in the hardest moments of our lives when we learn the most about ourselves and what we are truly capable of. I say that, but still am very much in the healing process myself. Keep going girl, you have a true talent and have inspired me to make my new place feel more like home.

She is adorable... what a great story her life will be.
  • Couldn’t agree more… Break ups should be celebrated! And so should Angie’s beautiful space. Apartment looks fabulous!
  • Ugh yes love this space!! And I love the philosophy of putting more importance on the love of friendship💖
  • An apartment just as colorful as its occupant. <3 Beautiful space!

You are 1000% right. There should be more emphasis on the relationship in our lives that aren't romantic or familial. My life would not exist without my friends
  • @lagilbing
Omg did I just cry from an apartment therapy video. Yes I did. Lol. Love the space

Loved her story ! It has sadness, gratitude, peace and what a lovely way all of it has reflected in her space. Makes me believe something good always come out of unsalvageable situations 😊

Your story is my story. Cheers to starting over, celebrating those important relationships, and creating a home that invites love in.

I think that this is my favorite episode. Not only did Angie use the space in an amazing way, zoning every area so beautifully, she curated every area with her special things and special memories. She is obviously artistic and talented, and I love how she shared how her friends helped her in love. It has only been since my husband died that I have realized how important our relationships with our friends are. BTW, her dog is so cute !!
  • Beautiful studio that you have made home! It feels much larger than 350 sq ft. I pray your heart is healing just as beautifully! ❤️
